Leather seats

When I got my '17 GT just over a year ago, one of the MUST have not's was Leather seats. I didn't want them. I had cloth seats in my '06 and after 10 years and 130k miles, they still looked like new. I have never owned a car with leather seats and every person that I've seen with them has had tears, cracks, worn areas, etc. The salesman told me that leather today isn't like like old leather.

Well after just over a year of owning my car, and 16k miles, I have a problem.

Is this really worth going to the dealer for? Has anyone had any luck patching or repairing leather? Is there anything I can do to stop this from spreading without looking like a patch job?

I take real good care of my things. Virtually everything I own looks like new. Don't get my wrong, I don't baby my items, but I don't tear them up. I don't have anything clipped to my pockets that would have done this. This is just normal wear and tear.

IK say take it in and see what they have to say. My guess is they will probably try to blame you and not cover it.

Hey I would pursue it with the dealer. What is the worst they can say? NO. I would bet if you have much of a relationship with your service writer he will get you taken care of. I know mine would be all over it. Give it a shot.
