I'm not all that excited to see a c-segment vehicle (aka Focus). We know how well that turned out for Cadillac.

"fully retractable glass roofs" sounds like Vista Roof MK2. Perhaps something like the Porsche Targa:

"C-segment" doesn't always mean "C-segment car". I'm thinking the first C-seg Linc is more likely to be a Lincoln version or the new Escape/Kuga or C-Max.

On the other hand, there is precedence for a C-segment car with a retractable Hardtop:

True, and I would like to retract my former statement...that Focus vert is pretty sexy looking. I just hope that in the end they stick to their guns and drop the rebadged Ford design approach.

If I recall correctly We heard this in the past, (how we would not be seeing vehicles from Lincoln that looked like fords with fancy bumpers and inflated price tags). Then they released the MKX. :banghead:

I think Ford needs a Focus Vert. Especially if they can keep it near or below $20k(cough).

I don't think we will ever get 100% away from rebadging, from any auto co. - its too easy and it saves them millions of dollars.

I am curious to see how much more "focus" they place on both Ford & Lincoln, after Mercury is retired. I think they are full of crap!

That's asking a lot. Remember that Mustang's vert starts at $27K, sor there's plenty of space 20-27 for a new 'Vert, and the new Focus is moving up-market (and up-price) now that the Fiesta is here. If we got a Focus Cabriolet, it would for sure be above $20K.

Ford had a lincoln concept car with a retractable glass roof.

Kind of an odd, almost Renault'ish looking thing, but interesting and at least they're thinking outside of the box a bit.
