Dealers still proud of the '15
Big time San Antonio mega dealer has a CPO '15 GT with nearly 10K miles listed on their website for $1600 MORE than the original MSRP. VIN in the ad and window sticker link match... and I didn't see anything special in the verbiage. I don't get it. Do they really think people are stupid? :screwy:

I traded my 13 Focus ST with 35k miles in on my Ecoboost Mustang in January of this year. I got a fair deal on the trade and the Mustang for $1000 below invoice.
A week or so latter I went on there Web page to see what they were asking for the ST. They were asking $1000 more than a co-worker paid for a new ST with the same options at the same dealer a couple months before. I would take spin through the lot when going by there and checked the web site about once a month to see what they were asking. They finally lowered the price by a couple grand which was still more than what it should go for and it finally disappeared from their lot in late August. Don't know if it sold or was sent to auction. I have bought 3 new cars from this dealership and got a great deal each time. Can't understand why they were so over priced on a used ST. They could have lowered the price another couple of grand and still made a grand over what they gave me on the trade. It seems that they would be interested in turning over their inventory faster than every 7 months. |
I guess I got lucky. I just picked up a 2015 GT Premium last week for about $5500 off sticker. I think you need to look at different dealers and tell them you will be test driving a Camaro before finally deciding. I test drove the 2015 Camaro, and the dealer wouldn't budge on the price at all, so, Ford it is...

When it comes down to it even with all the tools available to research a fair price there are still people that just go into a dealership and purchase on emotion. Those are the folks they are after when they price a car like that. Just show them a new car with a higher MSRP and they think they are getting a deal.

The boss cars are going to take a hit due to the new gt350 coming out. Don't expect to make a fortune on that one. Drive it.
