This pic got me thinking. If the front was revealed already (Track shots), I mean the true front then why is it still out in public fully covered.. I still hold that Fords is playing a shell game that people bought hook line and sinker.. But that's my opinion I guess..

Well the LaFerarri and P1 still have some swirly and padded models still on the roads, and theyve been revealed already

You can totally see the rear window, trimline shape on this. Need to get off my phone and on my Mac to highlight it.

I dunno, we bought three S197s, not looking like everything else was a lot of the Mustang's draw... I think slapping fusion styling on a mustang will be a bad move- it might sell, the mustangII did, but once the newness wears off I dont think the 'corporate look' will have many long term fans. I do hope its just a deliberate misleading release to get more folks talking- if so, its worked.

the 69 and 05 were IMHO fords best styling exercises, think a lot of folks might agree...neither looked like anything on the road, Ford or otherwise.

If Ford 'evolves' the mustang into another small/medium/large type of choice, its not a good thing, no matter how awesome it may be underneath...a lesson most seen recently with the late-great GTO- a awesome car that looked too generic

I hope they hit a styling home-run with the press like the 05 did, for the most part everyone liked it. the '10 rearend stirred up a lot of negative opinion- enough to show not all ideas will be seen as improvements by the masses... the 10 did sell at least 1 mustang here - the day after the big 'reveal' I ordered our 09

everyone has their favorites, opinions will vary- but end of the day I think you will find more fans of nicely done 69 and 05 models than any other style. yeah, beauty is only skin deep, but the 'look' is a lot of the draw to the showrooms. ther have been a lot of nice mustangs between 69 and 05, but none caught my eye like the 05 prototype at the auto show in 04...

I certainly do hope Ford can create another 'gotta have it' look for the bulk of mustang fans- but really really dont think thats possible with a only slightly different look than another model.

Classic lines just never go out of style. Betch Chevy was really happy with the new 58 model- but bet it boosted the values of the used 57's in the end. Styling/opinions are a tough road for the stylists, you cant please everyone.

I just worry they are thinking world class performance by lighter weight/DI/IRS/etc will sell better even at a higher price, and worldwide be better accepted in a less unique wrapper according to the marketing gurus (somebody had to approve the GTO).

I kinda disagree with that statement. You obviously love the 2005-09 car but the mustang has sold in many distinct styles. I personally love the current car but the sales numbers the last couple years are the worst sales numbers I've ever seen on the mustang. To save the mustang ford needs to get new buyers. Buyers that like the current car will just keep their current rides. I think the 4th gen cars did a good job of giving the cars comtemporary styling yet keeping the mustang look. Many non mustang fans seem to love the 99-04 style. It's aggressive modern looking for the time but still a mustang in every way. Keep it rwd and v8 powered and it fits my budget then ill always be a fan

The '10-'14 also have the Camaro, Challenger, Genesis Coupe and BRZ twins stealing sales. The 05-09 was all by itself. While I like the 05-09, the car is plain. You can only go retro for so long. Or you end up like the VW Beetle. And you can throw the 911 into the talk. But Porsche has had to come out with quite a few models to stay profitable.
The 2010+ and the mule front end are steps in the right direction to give the mustang an aggressive front. The 2013-2014 tail lights were better. But the rear needs some desperate attention.

That doesn't look that different from the current car, just a facelift of the 2014. I'm hoping for something for dramatic than that. I do hope it retains the current fastback look though

To me, that outline looks very Aston-Martinish, including the back end. Am I off on that?

Is it me, or does this look really long? The rear overhang is crazy long.

It does. It's a fake extension to hide the curvy back end. You'll notice the front camo protruded far beyond the revealed front end.

Well if it is To Dramatic I will stick with they old ones. Classics, SN95 and S197 Gen 1 and 2.

The original Foxes were good cars in the own right but they were NOT Mustangs.

Brewman, while to You the Fox Bodys weren't Mustangs, to a Whole Generation and Industry they are The Only Mustang. I'm hoping this 2015 will be a "New Mustang", but it is already Identifiable as a Mustang even, through the Camo, just by its proportions, and while many are arguing that the front end looks too much like a Fusion/Evos, with its "Catfish" Grill I see a strong resemblance to the current car. It's definitely an evolution of the 67/68 Shelby "Big Mouth Bass" Grill which is what inspired the 05-12 GT 500 and the Entire 13/14 Range. Even for those claiming it looks like Euro Trash how easily they forget the Original Mustang's Grill was inspired by Ferrari, and that the Original Mustang was Marketed as a European Inspired Sports Car.

Opinions, we all have them. and I always thought the Fox looked like a better style K car.
But , it was the eighties and styling was PRETTY bad across the board.
