It may be a while, but I can’t wait either, disneyfun1.
Lol! It’s a retail order, pj.singh.
Not sure, but you’re welcome to PM me so I can check for you, JonW.

So it seems that dealer inventory cars are being scheduled ahead of customer ordered vehicles. Has anyone that knows for a fact their car was ordered in their name received a VIN yet? I ordered the day the order bank opened and haven't been scheduled or receive an VIN yet.

This is normal and it happens every single time there's a new model change coming out. Ford needs to have sellable cars on the lots, not special orders that aren't going to sit and entice buyers in. It sucks, but that's the price you pay for ordering a brand new model year car - you have to wait longer for your car than the cars that the dealer orders.

Yeah that is something they can do to speed it up. I'd just be leary of that. I'd only do it at a dealer like Brian's or Jeff's, both guys that are on the forums frequently. Also, the dealer's allocation can determine how long the scheduling takes as well.

i ordered mine on 6/13 as a special order. It showed up online on the tracking site within a few days. About a week later i went and changed the color on it. the dealer then said it would arrive faster if they took it out of my name and off the x plan and just put as a retail order, but it would still be mine, just wont have my name on the window sticker. I said that was fine as i already had my name on my 2014. A few days later the VIN showed up online. The color change did not go through though. I went back and they put the color change in again and it has not changed online to the new color. Still waiting on the window sticker, but i did get the dora already as well. From what ive been told by Deysha, i should build in the beginning of sept sometime. Im not worried about the dealer selling it to someone else when it shows up. we have bought 3 cars from them in less than 12 months, and now have this mustang and a 2015 fusion on order as well right now. they have been nothing but great to us.

They have, it might just be that your dealer's allocations aren't as high of a priority as others. Try to be patient, you'll probably see your car around September or October, just judging off of what others have experienced in the past. It's a long wait, but it'll be worth it to have YOUR car that no one else has touched.

That’s great news, cinque35!!
They should all (stock & retail) be arriving to your dealers around the same time, guys.
That probably won’t happen for another couple of months, KlousGT.
