I think the new Mustang is nice. But, out of defense for Mustang's history and heritage, it has always stood out amongst other cars. It was never similar. Now we have this below...I'm disappointed but I'm still looking forward to it. These photos were taken off of google and I do not own them or claim them in any way.

At the end of the day, everyone has an opinion. The thing I personally dislike the most is the bashing. I think its a great looking car. I can't wait to see what the Mustang will be like in 10 years from now ( when I'm ready to get a new one!) I hope its completely changed again and again

True... the Challenger, Porsche, Jeep and many other vehicles have had very little design changes over the years, that may appeal to some, but not all.

Its a good thing that there are so many great cars on the road that we have the choice to be picky about what we want and don't want to drive. I guess if the new mustang doesn't appeal to you, you can go elsewhere!

Perfect rendition blending the beginning years. I pulled out a credit card! Within 23 days of seeing Ford's Bullitt site and the rev's on audio. (They should have never pulled that site!)

My wallet is safely in my pocket. Regardless of 302. Like you said yourself - the rear is taller than my 08 Bullitt. That's the problem. Ford keeps raising that back deck and then trying to fill in that HUGE bumper cover with... diaper plastic.... black panel plastic... twink tail lights...
Finally they dropped the 15 trunk line some.

Enough's already been said. Some positives, some takeaways...

You have to understand. I graduated hs in 74 so got to see plenty of the real thing 65-70/71-73 on the road when they were becoming affordable as used for us high schoolers/young adults. And right when we were able to get jobs and open wallets, the ******* arabs ****ed everything up. Plus back then most of us had stern fathers that leaned hard on us not going into debt with some unsteady job. Very few of us had 'daddy' buying us Mustangs. Were there even credit cards? Auto loans where uncommon among many young adults in middle America. Banks were tight as hell. Then the gas lines changed everything and we were left with ****ing 2.3L 4 bangers for '74+. Get it?

Just like 20/30 whatevers want tablets or smt phones to mumble with their thumbs and swish with their fingers, while those of us that actually type words and thoughts use a laptop with a keyboard.
Or just like 20/30 somethings love Glock from Austria, and us 1911 loyalists laugh while we will pull American made Colts - and ONLY American made - till the end of our days. Principle and proven performance. Loyalty. Traditional America. Anything but that can **** up a rope.

So when the S197 came along, it wasn't 'midlife crisis' or 'returning to our youth' bull****. It was a chance to have modern power/handling/driveability with the Mustang looks - REAL Mustangs - that were stolen from us by greedy ****ing ragheads.

Some say the 05-09 wasn't aggressive enough. Really? Compared to what? Your single mom's mini-van? Honda? 4 door whatever? The rich guy's dad's ****ty beemer? The left it in the shop again Audi?

The 05-09 S197 restarted an era. Don't dis your roots. The real roots - not the post arab embargo 74-04 after effect. That was one hell of a long asz ****ty drought!
Perspective man, perspective.
Charlie... tell us how you really feel....

I like the 15. Actually, I can see why people are saying that it's losing some of it's character but the Mustang had to move forward with 'modern' styling at some point, especially with the global market. Out all those cars above people are comparing it too, the Mustang looks the best and still retains performance.

The front ends are somewhat similar but that is where the similarities stop IMO. Both front ends look great IMO and I have learned to roll with all the fustang punch comments.

Exactly, it's moving in the right direction. Time will tell!

It would be different I suppose if using the corporate design language (read FUSION!) on the front end of the Mustang came off looking good. But in the case of the 2015 it just looks awkward. The headlamps look too small or too high set or something. It just doesn't have good symmetry.

There it is. THAT's it. It looks... kludged on to the Mustang. Mustang should be it's own 'brand' of style, not some corporate car tack on, the whole way 'round, not try to make it 'This is Ford, see? Look at the front and you *know*!' We know. Ford and Mustang are synonymous with each other. There's no need to corporate brand the car's looks to get that across.

That's what I couldn't express, before. Now it's just that obvious. Thanks, White. I feel better knowing what it is that what was buggin' me so much about the front.

Ding, ding, ding! As much as I love the retro styling the mustang needs to evolve to compete in a more crowded marketplace.
