spark plug life

I have a stock 2012 V6 running a 'Bama tune. What kind of spark plug life should I expect?

The Bama tune won't affect the Spark Plug life. You can expect to get the same life out of your plugs as a stock 2012 V6.

Standard copper plugs are said to last anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 miles, while more expensive iridium or platinum spark plugs can last 60,000 miles. Some high-end iridium plugs are advertised to go more than 120,000 miles.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dan. It still has the stock plugs - whatever they are.

You do know it's in your owners manual?

Never forget to use the anti sise on the threads or the spark plug will back out .

I believe the owners manual states the spark plugs are good for 100,00 miles

Yes, every 100,000 miles for spark plugs

On page 335 of the 2012 owners manual it tells you "SPARK PLUGS" change at 100,000 miles.and also to change the engine coolant at this same time. They say to inspect the belt but I will change mine at this time.

Copper are fine, IIRC autolite 4125 or something like that used on my old '05 4.0, swapped them out every year, cheap insurance, raced it in autocross and did see wear on the electrodes. I would never go 100k on the same plug unless I didnt care about mileage or performance.
