PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LIGHT
PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LIGHT
I have a New 2013 GT 5.0 with 850 miles on it and I have had it in the shop twice and need to take it back again. The Engine light keeps coming on. It will run rough for a minute and the Engine light will come on, also seem to have a strong odor of gas, then it will run fine after that. They have relearned the computer and reset the PCM. Has anyone else had this problem. I am almost sorry I traded my Corvette for it.
Under warranty? Take it back one more time, then mention you want to start a lemon law action. I think it's 3 times to the shop for the same problem without a fix that can earn you a filing for this act.
Or try another dealership, or try the regional service rep, or wait for the service rep that frequents this site (Deysha?). She's been real good at helping folks out here by contacting the dealership for you before you take the car in.

Search for the "Misfire" thread in this forum and you will see the progression of things to do and the 2 TSB"s that have been issued by Ford, Have your dealer look up the TSB's and see if they are applicable for your CEL codes.
My Gt has the same problem but there is nothing wrong with the engine.
Deysha will be a big help also.

I had the same issues when my car was under 5000 miles. Happened 3 times. Ultimately, it has stopped. I have no idea why. Runs like a champ since then. I hope they get yours worked out.
Thanks, I hope so, tired of taken a new car back, especially 3 times. It's a shame that I have to be affraid to drive a new car for any distance and think about being broke down somewhere on a cold wintery night.
I took it in again today. They need to keep it overnight. I sure am getting tired of this. Maybe I need to file Lemon Law.
'NO' I love the car, but when you put that much money into something ( paid cash for the Mustang from what I got out of the Corvette ) it's a little different. I just hate the problems and the inconvenience.

She's not a factory rep. You need a Ford engineer to look into the problem. There's a couple of threads on S197forum.com that you should read about the same problem you have.
