No Oil!!!!

No Oil!!!!
About 2 blocks from my house and i hear a noise from my 2012 5.0. Sounds like a stick being placed into a metal fan. Got home and checked the oil...ZERO oil on the stick!!!! I have 2300 miles and admittedly haven't checked the oil since I got the car...but i don't expect to need to with a brand new $41,000 car! She is parked in my garage every night (and not driven daily) so I know the oil didn't leak. Can't wait to have the dealer tow it in. Has my engine been damaged? What response should I expect from Ford? Could this car have burned 8 quarts of oil in 2300 miles???

While normal to use oil during break-in, there is no way it used 8 quarts. You would have noticed that much oil consumption. If not by the smell, then by the massive bluish-gray plume of smoke following your car around.
Also, there should be an oil level sensor. My 1992 Explorer had one. If oil got too low (but not yet dangerously low), the oil light would come on. It's possible that sensor could fail, but there is no way you lost all 8 quarts without noticing spilled oil on the ground or smoke as it burned off.
Have you added oil to it now? Did the noise go away when you added oil? Or are you not touching it until the dealer sees it?

Thanks for the quick response Berol. I didn't notice any of those symptoms. No lights, warnings, smells, smoke...nothing. The car ran absolutely perfect until last night. I won't touch it until the dealer tows it in.

a) Just because it doesn't show on the dipstick doesn't mean there is zero oil left. But I get that the point is it was WAY too low.
b) I don't get why anyone would drive a car thousands of miles without checking the oil, especially on a new car when anything could be going on. I've been chided on this forum for being an oil-checker (I checked my car's oil @ delivery, before I started it up with 4.5 miles on it), but at least I know what my oil level is.
Oh well, good luck to you and let us know how it turns out for you.

If you were just driving the car you normally don't get much oil on the dipstick. How long did you let it sit before checking the oil?
You need to give enough time for the oil to come back down from the valve train and such.

Oil pressure was fine...checked oil again this A.M. ~ still not a drop on the stick. Spoke to dealer this morning, they told me not to add any oil and not to start the car...they will send a tow Monday morning.

I have to agree with that course of action, from the standpoint of the dealer seeing the car exactly as you found it and not causing any more damage. But the inconvenience of it all really sucks. Hopefully they will treat you right.

That or maybe Lave Red was less appeaking to Ford/delivery personnel for driving around around than Grabber Blue.

He's got nothing to worry about. There is a good chance it was filled low from the factory, but that aside, there is absolutely nothing in the manual that states you are required to check the oil every level every couple hundred or thousand miles, nor any special procedures for engine break-in regarding the oil level and such.
We've seen lots of reports about how this new 5.0 motor appears to be burning oil during break-in, and until Ford puts out a TSB or Recall, we just need to work through the problems.
My motor burned through about 1-quart every 5,000 miles. Now that my car has about 18,500 miles on it, the oil consumption has stopped.
