Need help please

Hello there fellow ‘stang drivers!
I’m experiencing an issue with my turning that I need some help with.
When i make a turn of any sort - as the wheel returns to the neutral position i hear a clunk coming from the engine area every time.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I’m at a loss here.

To also add in addition - there’s no type of disconnect between the wheel & how the car turns. Handles very well.

You can guess, we can guess. It'll be a fun time not getting it right! My guesses are these:

Power steering rack loose or broken. This is the EPAS, right? That'll be fun...
Strut mount not happy.
Strut not happy.
Spring perch/isolators not happy.
Ball joints not happy.
Control arms not happy.
Tie rod end(s) not happy.
Brake caliper or rotor not happy.
Steering shaft not happy.
Something else, IDK what.

So... the best thing to tell you is to get it to an alignment rack, take the plates loose under the front wheels, have someone in the car turning the wheel while you identify the noise location, or you turn the wheel while someone else does the check. That's going to be the fastest way to find the issue, otherwise it's a goose chase.

No, do not put it on a lift, do not put it on jackstands, do not put it on a ramp. You need the car in an 'as driving' situation, which means the alignment rack where you can turn the wheels as the car is sitting on them.

Hope that helps. And welcome to the forums!
