Just towed

Well, just had my Stang towed to the dealer. I had just taken it out for a brief drive down the highway when I heard a whining sound out of the rear end and then a brief "pop". Then it seemed to cruise on as normal until I downshifted, then heard another odd sound. Although it didn't feel like it, it sounded like a blown tire. When I pulled over, I checked the tires and everything was fine, then I saw the liquid, draining like a faucet out of the rear differential area. Not sure what would cause this on a vehicle that has 7700 miles on it, but I guess I'm soon to find out.

Thanks! Sounds like they are ordering parts and fixing it. Blows my mind that something would happen like this. I have a sort video on my iPhone, if I can figure out how to post it on here, I will.

I can't even imagine it, 2010BLKSTANG. I'm happy to learn your dealer is working with you on this. Again, if you need me, let me know.;)

Well, new ring, pinion and carrier are in. Sadly, when installing this the found out it needed a new Axle Housing as well. All this was supposedly caused by a loose nut from the factory. Pretty upsetting having this happen, especially to a car with 7700 miles on it.:(

While its not something you want to hear or will like, it is a mechanical device. Things will happen. If a bolt wasn't tight from the factory and it backed out, it would get between that ring and pinion and just cause all kinda H_ell. I'm sure it'll be good as new in no time.
