Amazon says these will work for my 2010 Mustang. I would like to ditch the 2 piece fob but someone told me if the frequency is different, they would never be able to be programmed. Anyone ever made the switch? How can they advertise that it works if it doesn't. Confused...
The Short Answer is Yes, I Believe. The Usual Issue is Funky Aftermarket Keys. Cheap Ones Many Time Are Just Junk. Also Some May Program & Fail Later & Leave You Stranded. So Try Not to get Bottom of Barrel Key.
A Link to Your Keys Pictured Would Be Helpful if You Would Like My Opinion on If They are Any good. Maybe So Maybe Not!
If You Can Get a Quality Key. As Stated in the Links Stratec Makes Fords Keys. Get a Good Key Cut and you Should Be Able to Add Your IKT to Exisiting Program. The Keyless Features Will Need To Be Programmed all Over Though. Using Pads And New Ikt Key.
Just A Warning. We Sold Lots of The IKT Keys at The Dealerships I Worked At Because Customers Would Physically Break the Heads Of Due To Size. of Course They Were Not Usually the Ever Vigilant Mustangs Who Take Care of Their Equipment. A Lot Would Get Washed Too!
The Topic Here Has a Different Overall Mod But it Links To a Lot of Good Resources.
