I can't believe you had to jump through these many hoops to get a freakin' bracket. Looks like Ford - and your local dealership - still have a looong way to go in terms of customer service. A good dealership can make or break a customer's relationship with an entire OEM.

Problem is, he still has yet to have a resolution. Fortunately I saw his post and checked it on SAT, and was able to talk to my FORD, send pics and they properly said they would fix it. For IMAFORDFAN, this is turning into a catastrophe on FORD side. I hope it works out well for anyone, as this seems common now.

here we go. FORD is searching for a part number, and according to IMAFORDFAN there is no part number. So we will see what they say soon I guess.

So much for the supposed TSB. That would likely have incorporated the part number.

I tried to find you a link to the assembly drawing, but not successful. Thought you could present it to your dealer to show what/where it is. Perhaps they have a further breakdown of the assembly drawing.

Not sure if that will show up correctly, but I dont even see it in the breakdown of the diagram. Again, not sure if the linked went through properly, but they have my pictures to go by. Let me know if you find better breakdown.

Its now 12:50, yet to hear back as they search for a part number, lol. Im gonna tell them take it off an existing one on the lot if they try to pull some weird junk.

Will do if my dealer fails. They already stated they would fix it, but need to find the correct part number but like stated earlier in the thread when IMAFORDFAN went to order it, there is no separate part number for just the bracket.

Around me (CT), all the smaller FORD dealers are closing June 30 (tomorrow).

The link you have for the part breakdown calls the part that the bracket should be on a heat shield - but that does not look like a 2010 breakdown. Certainly wasn't the same illustration I saw at my Ford dealer...

IMAFORDFAN, does yours look like this ? ? I know its dirty, rained on the way home so got some dirt under neath but you get the point.

FORD wanted more photos or for me to come down (which is 40 miles away) so then they can decide what to do. Im trying to give the information over phone, via pictures, so I dont drive down there for them to tell me its gonna take a week, and waste me taking days off for their mistake.

Thanks for posting this - just checked our 2010, it is there, but boy what a "dumb" design. If you're the one making the CAD for the lines, why not route them up on the chassis, rather than hanging down where they can get hooked by debris... yikes. Guess I'll be fabbing up a re-route before this car gets serious on the track.

Best of luck on the dealer issue, but be aware they are independent companies from Ford corporate. I have two local dealers we won't even talk to, our past two cars came from as far as 3 hours away so I could deal with people that were responsive to us.

It is now Friday, still waiting for FORD to call me back, they actually seem like they are trying, but just dont know what part to order. Yesterday, I sent them all the pics posted to give them a better idea of what I was working with, so gonna bother them soon today to see where we stand, even though I sent them email about it. Tomorrow will be a week without a part ordered, so now its annoying me.

I agree with you, I purchased mine over 40 miles away from me, when there is at least 4 dealers closer to me. Just never got the warm and fuzzy from the others one even test driving a few.

Agreed - but it is IMO poor business that Ford corporate has taken the exact same stance. I'm hoping the NHTSA and/or Illinois Sataes Attorneys office can put forth the proper influence.

Saw this post a couple days ago, got around to checking my August built 2010. The bracket is missing too. I see if y'all have any success before I go to the dealer about it. I don't have much confidence in the local dealer at this point.

Alright. Here is the answer from my Ford dealer. After a week of emailing pictures of both mine and an earlier 2010, I drove the vehicle down there this morning for 7 a.m. They took the vehicle in, within 5 minutes they came back to me and stated that "mine is a later model 2010, built more like the 2011's and the whole assembly has changed and yours will not have the six inch bracket holding it."

Dec 2010 built Mustang.

They brought me out to their 2011, and I got under the vehicle, looks indentical to mine. Their 2010 they had in the showroom had the bracket, but looked different for the assembly, as in the whole assembly. So not sure what to believe, although I have seen many 2010's with it and without it, and the first 2011 I have seen do not have it.

Looks like an AR3Z-9040-A fuel line bracket. Retail price is about $17.00. Just FYI.

(edit) Whoops...after further review, and looking at the position of the missing bracket, those are evaporative emission tubes (they do not carry liquid fuel, under normal circumstances.). And it appears that the bracket only comes with the lines according to the parts catalog.

Either way, the dealer should have gone to bat for you.

Do you have a picture of it? Because the illustration I am looking at, doesnt look like the same part we are talking about. Its about 6 inches long.

Thanks for editing the post and clarifying what the lines actually do also, lol. I believe the original poster was told he would have to order the whole assembly over $200, which doesnt make sense to me, but my dealer just told me that they found out that its normal on late model 2010's and 2011's appear to be the same way. That is why they took me out to their 2011 and showed me (which they just got in). But seems odd to me that its even their without being attached to anything. I guess i will wait for a wrecked '10/'11 to get that part somewhere, unless someone here has access to get this part from FORD.

Ho does the bracket attach to the shield at the gas tank? Got a picture of this?
