seat lether cracking
 

Any one having problems with their leather seats cracking? I was detailing the interior the other day and to my horror found these splits. I never drive with anything in my pockets so I am sure I didn't do it.

Well....showed it to my dealer...he took pictures with his little crummy camera. He said ford could not cover it under warrantee but he could order me another cover for $352 plus 2 hours labor and fix it right up.

Ford uses cheap/the least expensive leather they can get. On the other hand I had a lexus with 170k miles on it and the leather was still in much better shape than my 70k stang

That's weird. I saw in another thread that this stuff is covered under warranty.

Dang it!! I have seen this before on other Ford / Lincoln interiors. Although it is not, it almost looks like tiny cuts rather than cracks because they are so straight and well defined. Ford seems to have trouble with some items that you would think should not be questioned by warranty. Maybe Deysha can get the Zone Rep involved for you. I wish u luck.

I've seen articles on yahoo, ranking the quality of interiors for car brands, and ford isn't too high in the ranks, not my words, just saying what I saw.
