installing radio. need help
ok. I have a base model 2013 GT without sync. I am trying to install my Pioneer Avic-X930BT navigation. I ordered the Scosche double din install kit and the Scosche S3FD23 wiring harness. I hook up the Pioneer harness to the Scosche harness. Turn the key and radio will not come on. At this time I am checking my connections for the 3 main connections to turn a radio on. Ground from Pioneer to Scosche harness is correct and goes to car harness. Yellow constant power Pioneer to Scosche is hooked up correctly and goes to car harness. Red Ignition from Pioneer to Scosche is hooked correctly but I follow that wire and goes off or another plug that goes to a interface. At this time I didn't care if the steering wheel controls didn't work so I didn't order a interface kit. OK, So I see I need the Scosche S3-1 Interface module and steering wheel module. This is what my extra plug plugs into that carries my red ignition wire. Now I have to wait till that comes in to try installing again. My question now is I have searched and searched forums and google for the answers with no luck. Where and what do I need to tap into for the VSS wire and also for the REVERSE SIGNAL wire. I really want to hook them up to make everything right and correct. Anybody please?
You have the wrong harness. You need the one that interfaces with the CAN bus. You need the PAC C2R-FRD1. It gives you all the hookups you need with just one module.

It looks that kit you have is brand new. I've never seen one, but I looked it up online, and it does look like it will work if you have the whole kit. The harness you mentioned is just one part of the Scosche kit you need. Do you have the S3-1 part too? You need to plug the harness in that for it to work. It sounded to me like you just had the S3FD23. If you have both parts, then you will have all the hookups on the harness including reverse and Vss. Vss is the pink wire and reverse is violet with white stripe.
I almost the same harness. All I have is the main one which is the bigger one. I do not have the CAN bus but everything works fine but what you would have to do to get that to work is to tap in a remote switch on the fuse box on the passenger kick panel. I use the lunbar since it turn off when I turn off the car and back on when I turn the car on. Feature you lose is having the radio stay on when you take the key off.

Yes, but without the module, you will not have reverse or Vss signals for navigation. That comes from the CAN bus along with the power signal. It's not that expensive, so there's no real reason to go hunting for connections elsewhere in the car when you can just plug in the module the harness was meant to go with.
I also used the PAC C2R-FRD1 when I installed my Sony DVD player and the Scosche dash kit, it worked fine.
Did you call Scosche tech support and see what they had to say? Might be worth a call to them and see if they can assist you.

I would call Scosche. I wasn;t crazy about their interface kit (don't remember why) and ended up instead getting the Metra kit: Axxess XSVI-5520-NAV with the steering wheel remote interface.
