Installing OEM 3 stage heated and cooled seats
#21
I was wondering if anyone has finished wiring up the heated and cooled seats and if they could share pictures and wiring diagrams. I’m actually trying to figure out how to wire them up in a sn95 so I don’t have any of the ac/heated seat buttons yet and I’ll need to run extra wiring to the seats. I have the control module under the seat but unsure what else I’ll need as well.

Do you have an S197 control module under the seat of your SN95 or are you planning to create something new?

I was going to use the OEM switches, which means I 'may' need a new HVAC module as well as the heated/cooled seat module, so your application is a little different.
I haven't gotten around to playing around with again, this but hope to soon.

It will work. I just haven't done anything lately.
my wife bought a 1999 Porsche 911 and been using up my car time and cash getting her car up to snuff. My car has to wait.

You got an HVAC module for heated seats and the switches and it didn't work? Did you add the appropriate wires to the connectors? If you replaced the module, switches and connected it all right it should work.
I did not give up on this, but am focussing on other things right now. I put in the switches and they light up, but need the HVAC module to get it to work plus another module for each seat, plus the air blowers and heating element. Some work still.

I got the switches to work. Not plug and play but simple enough.
The Taurus module won't fit. The upper row of buttons angles out and sits higher than in the Mustang module. So I took the Taurus and Mustang modules apart to see if I could switch out the internals into the Mustang's module. The bottom circuit board was switched and so were the heated and cooled seat buttons. Easy. Everything lights up and the heated seats still work. The middle light for the heated seats lights up when turned on. So far so good.

Edit******
Never mind, I just figure it out. All I had to do is push and slide the black clip up on each side then remove the cable. See attached for reference marked in red arrows.
Thanks.

Sorry, just saw this. Glad you got it figured out.
I am concentrating on doing work on my wife's car (she's the lead and I am helping her). I do plan to get back to this in the summer. I have all the wiring figured out. Fingers crossed that it works.
Scott, from your post, you are doing this too?

I am curious, does your cooling seats symbol light up? My didn't light up, but only the heated seats symbol did. See attached two images:

Yes, I am working on doing it, but I haven't got all the parts yet. I don't have heated seat, but I would like to install heated along with the cooling seats. The circuit board switch was the first step I did.

Still on the back burner for me. I've figured out everything to do it, just have to actually do it.
Scott, you are using the new bottom circuit board for the heated seats and not the old one? Silly question, but I have to ask it. That is the only thing that would make me think as to why the blue does not light up.

I can supply that, but as for ducting, i haven't done that yet. Thinking of the ducting from a Taurus and then cutting the foam to accommodate that.
Also wondering if the perforations in our seats will be enough.

I will get you a preliminary parts list.
I am not 100% sure it will work, but getting the HVAC from a Taurus with cooled seats is needed to do this. Some wiring is bypassing the SJB, which is where I wonder if this can be made to work. Otherwise, we need someone to make a control box to do it using the OEM buttons. I am pretty sure it can be made to work, though.
