Help please

Today i decided to remove my door panels in an effort to quiet the buzzes and rattles from the stereo. I removed the door panel easily enough but of course the cable for the door release was still attached (what a stupid design for that to be part of the panel!!) anyhow, I wanted to fully remove the panel, so i was able to release the cable from the handle..well I still dont see how i can remove the cable from the panel but now i have a larger problem, I cant seem to reattach the cable to the door handle! there just isnt enough slack in the cable

Any tips?

Actually, yes, considering how badly these doors rattle i was expecting nothing on the backside of the panels, however, they actually did go to great lengths to attempt to prevent it.. The backside of the panel had these cloth pads.. what i did notice however, was at the very top of the door, right by where the window exits, there is a plastic strip that runs the length of the door. the top of the door panel rests right on this area. There is no padding here so its plastic against plastic. I placed a length of foam tape on the strip. i also noted a few other places that looked to have plastic against plastic and placed adhesive felt pads in those areas, the doors are much quieter. Maybe not 100% but far better. I suspect some of the wiring in the door could be possibly making the remaining noise, I may consider pulling the panels again and wrapping the wires in foam.

Great thread... I have to dig into the doors (mostly driver side) one of these days! I expect that I have exactly the same issue, at the top of the door, where the rattle seems to be coming from.

Can you give me more details on how to remove the door panels? I don't want to break anything. Also, any pics while you had the panels down?

Thanks for your help!
