Got my interior stitch dying done a awesome lime green to match the car. I absolutely love it, I've been outside a few times every hour to just look. I've been wanting to spice up the interior now for so long. Thought of painting the dash inserts but I could see I was never going to get to this. I don't like the sticker overlays so that was all ruled out. These pics are all real quick shots I've taken with my phone I can post more if some would like.

Did you do this yourself? If so what kind of dye?

Hadtohaveit'13 Jun 1, 2013 07:39 PM

Yea. I believe it's called fabricmate. Something along those lines for sure. Ill get a pic of that too when I'm back home later

I 've been wanting to change the color on my stitching as well that came out beautiful. Could you show the product and how you did it? Please tell me you didn't have to remove all those parts.

Thanks alot! All the pieces can stay in the car without a doubt. Sometimes you gotta be in some weird crunched up angles to get some of the stitches but its easily doable. I did it with everything in the car. It a marker essentially and you run it over the stitches and a bit of excess gets on the leather then you rub over what you just did with a wet sock or something and it comes beautifully off the leather and remaining only on the stitch

Here are the markers used. You will probably need 3 markers like I did. Here you can see the type of marker and also the wear they take from this. I left one nice so It could be used for finer detailing after I was all done.

How long do you have to wait before you should wipe the excess off the leather? It didn't dye the leather AT ALL?

I was doing like a whole line of maybe 30 stitches then wiping it. Toward the back I was drowning in sweat so I did a whole seat before i wiped it just to he done And it did exactly the same thing. It leaves absolutely no excess AT ALL. I'm a perfectionist and I wouldn't have done this otherwise. Now I'm not speaking for stone or saddle interiors but I imagine it would be the same, the way it came off mine was so flawless I couldn't see it going any other way

Will this stuff fade?

It says permanent after 24 hours, I assume it will not. Neon green dye lathered over white stitch sounds like it'll stick to me

Came out great!
