Speaker Wiring Harnesses

These are from Crutchfield but you can get them from Best Buy or off of Amazon.

That guy is flat out wrong. Also the spacers they sell may or may not work, but I'm erring on the side of not being good because they're a universal bracket. Poke around for speakers on eBay and Amazon. I got the pioneer 2-way speakers mentioned in another thread for $35/pair on Amazon in March. Also I'd go for the OEM ford spacer, for an easy plug and play solution.

Are you going to change the back speakers? I have the Shaky 500 and the back speakers sound like they came from the single speaker out of my old '65 Chevy pickup...terrible

I know it's hard nowadays but try and actually listen to them if you can. If a store had them, listen to them using the same amp and the same music. Acoustic stuff will usually highlight a systems short comings.

Lol, I don't know if you are taking to me but I'll answer. It'll be long winded and boring. Brace yourself. All speakers will color or change the sound of music. Some emphasize bass, some add more highs. Each speaker has a personality. What I like, you might hate. It's very subjective.

That said, I like the infinity reference speakers. They run well with the power output from a stock stereo. I think they have a balanced sound and don't sound strained with low wattage. Any of the major makers build good speakers.

The spacer is used only in the premium model with the Shaker system. IceD does not have the premium model so therefore he doesn't need the "spacers".

I'm waiting for when I have the time to change my back speakers. Yes, they sound horrible. I had a 2013 with Infinity speakers all the way around and it sounded great. I pulled the speakers out so I could have them installed in my 2014. Fronts are done, just waiting on the backs.
