Depends on the frame of your speakers - some have tabs to fit a 6x8 hole, others don't. Most likely you won't need them, but you'll need to check the depth when you mount them to make sure the magnet doesn't interfere with the power window mechanism (it shouldn't but always check). You might need the spacer to add some space between the speaker and door frame. YMMV depending on speaker brand.

okay, i guess ill see what i can do with it.

also do we need a tool to put in the metra harness on the speakers? cuz i tried with my bare hands last night and it wouldnt go in...and i didnt wanna apply full force.

any suggestions?

okay so these arent going in with my bare hands...how else can i put these adapters in the speakers?

iceD Dec 3, 2013 08:34 AM

this is supposedly freaking funny and annoying at the same time..

so i managed to put in the positive side in.

the negative isnt going in...any suggestions?

Push harder LOL. Maybe squeeze on the metra female end with a needle nose plier to open it up a bit and then tighten it again after making the connection

iceD Dec 3, 2013 10:23 AM

thats what ill do...but i dont wanna damage anything lol.

Don't worry. As long as you don't break the tab off the speaker or bend it severely you'll be alright. Alternatively, you can find female spade connectors at radio shack that may fit the speaker better. Then you would just clip off the old connector, strip the wiring and crimp on a new connector. No soldering necessary!

^ certainly an option
