Dead Pedals

Something That I had completely forgotten and that may not have been fixed by Ford: do Mustangs now come with a proper dead pedal ? If not, what are the options out there ?

On my 2005 there were 2 options: either a Steeda that was too small or a stainless steel cover that was just applied to the carpet :bad:

thanks!

They don't.

Even better than a dead pedal, you get a whole raised platform to put your foot on.

If there is something other than carpeting ?

You have a few options, there is the CDC dead pedal to match your gas, brake, clutch then there are larger brushed stainless options. I bought the stainless from AM and I am happy with it. AM Link

And there are probably others that I'm not familiar with.

I have the ones on post #11, installing them soon. Quality is top notch.

Dead pedals are not necessary in the newer mustangs because of the raised platform. Furthermore, unnecessary because of the floormats that cover the platform as well.

You can get that same dead pedal plus all of the additional pedals for the same price at AM. Just fYi. I installed mine this week and sold the dead pedal to a member.

I have the CDC in my car:
Attachment 200041

And while there is a raised "platform" I found that the angle caused left ankle problems for me. Put the dead pedal in and no longer had ache and swelling in the ankle after long drives.

And stock floormats don't cover the "dead pedal platform". Aftermarket you can order them with the extra flap to cover the dead pedal platform or get them the same as stock mats.

I assumed no one was still using the paper thin stock mats. My bad.

My old 2000 has a dead pedal. Guess the raised platform was too revolutionary at the time.:(
