Audiophiles help needed!
 

Hey guys!
Just had some thoughts that I wanted to "get on paper" so to speak, and hopefully those with more knowledge or influence can better direct me.

These are my plans for an audio system for my car.
In June of this year, I purchased a single 12" subwoofer made by Hertz. That is in a fiberglass sub box on the passenger side of my trunk.

Then I purchased 3 10" clarion subwoofers. My goal was to create a trunk that was show worthy, but didn't cost $5,000 like some quotes I got from car audio places.

From there, I wasn't too sure I could get those 3 10" subs to fit, as I couldn't find a premade box.
So I picked up a ported dual 10" box and put those in the trunk.

The big problem here, is the mixing and matching of subs. I'm only running those 2 10" subs and the one amplifier. I know it's bad practice to mix and match so I'm not doing it.

I have found a company that makes a fiberglass enclosure for the driver side for the 2010-2012 model. That should fit, and I will sand it and paint it to match like I did with the other one.


My question now is: 1) should I just get a piece of vinyl wrapped wood to cover the existing dual sub box, like a beauty panel and leave it at that stage?

2) Should I get a fiberglass pre-fabbed "universal" sub box in the hope that it will fit? (Pictures 4 & 5)

3) since I have different brands, should I sell those 3 12" clarion subwoofers and get 3 12" hertz subwoofers? Then I would have 1 on the left side, 1 on the right side, and 2 rear firing subwoofers.
Again, this is more of a visual mod more than sound. The 2 10" subwoofers pound hard enough.
Heck, even that single 12" subwoofer was awesome.

4) maybe I should ditch the 10" subs, and have two side mounted 12" subwoofers, but then I would get standing waves and wave cancellation.

Please someone guide me

First off you have too many subs. They should all be the same sub woofer. Either stay with the 12 on the side, or the 2 behind the seats. I don't foresee fitting 3 in there and it looking good, but I could be wrong. Personally I like that side box. If you could get one just like it for the other side that could look nice too.
