Aftermarket Keyless Start Button

I was looking around to get a remote start installed and I saw that there are several aftermarket kits for keyless start buttons.

I know that there was a member here that used digitalguarddawg. His pics of the button looked OEM.

Anyone have one of these installed? Pics?

This one is easygo, and I like the fob and button. Wish the button had a chrome trim, though:

I am buying the easygo from Amazon. I get the remote start and the keyless with all functions.

Nice! Let us know how it turns out.

Jim, I was going to buy this very same product, but didn't. I read that it causes some conflicts with our car. One complaint was if you turn off the engine, you can't restart it until you leave the remotes range and then come back. I don't remember the others. Just a heads up.

Interesting ... do you have the links so I can read up on this?

Cheers

I'm trying to remember where I read it. I believe it was on a cyclone page on facebook. It was at least a year ago and someone in Texas was selling his set up. I almost bought it, but then read some of the issues and felt it wasn't worth the headaches. I've looked around, but unable to find the post.

If anyone can, I'm guessing you can get this to work properly. I just ordered all the oem nav parts to convert mine after reading your post.

looks like you have to replace the driver's door handle. does this mean you lose the key lock?

don't remember if there is one on the passenger side, but what happens when battery goes dead? how do you get in the car?

so far i think i like the digitalguarddawg the best. especially that start button setup where that guy had put it!

I like the ones that replace the 12v port between the ac vents too that ive seen at cj pony parts but would only use the button from it and figure out hwo to make it work with that digitalguarddawg if i didnt just mount it in my dash like that guy did which definitely looks like the way to go.

I also liked the digitaldawg, but liked the fobs for Easygo better.

The door handle is only partially replaced. The part that pulls is replaced, so the portion with the keyhole remains.

Digital Dawg said they can make their system work with those button, and also have plates to mount their button in the port as well.

I'd love to have the DigitalGuardDawg system, but not $600 worth of love.

DeeJayTJ 8/5/15 02:50 PM

totally worth 600 to me if the install is right

tukatz 8/5/15 03:26 PM

So here's a question. My Mustang has the active security system. If I take it on a Washington State ferry and lock it using the remote it enables that part of the system that senses movement. Once the ferry is underway there is just enough rocking to set off the system and I get paged to go turn off the alarm. I have to lock it with the key to avoid that problem.

With the DGD system would there be a way to lock the car/arm the system without having the motion sensor enabled?

You would need to talk to them. They are quick to get back to you.

This is from Digital Guard Dawg. They say you can put the S2000 button or others instead.

jim010 8/31/15 04:29 PM

My kit from Easygo got here today. I'll take some pics of the kit later.

I'll probably install it soon, when I have to take my dash out to do some other stuff.

GT227 8/31/15 05:28 PM

Nice, can't wait! Would you mind checking the back of you nav unit (see my post from your adding oem nav post) if you are taking off the dash?
