Any idea on what the cost is to have it flashed?

jim010 Aug 29, 2013 07:28 PM

That I don't know. Mine already had the the needed features. For my nav for my 2005 it cost $80, though. You'll have to phone them.

If you do send it in, maybe ask them to input your VIN as well.

Sounds good. I will contact them for info.

Also, do you have the part number for the blend door parts I need to enable that functionality?

The info you provided for the sun load sensor was helpful, but I'm looking for a full part number to add to my parts list. Apparently a few friends with Mustangs are interested in this, and I'm trying to document things in detail for them.

jim010 Aug 29, 2013 09:38 PM

This is the part number you tried, right?

DG9Z 13A018 A

If the part number I provided isn't working, then I don't know what is up. I no longer have the box it came in or the invoice, so I can't double check. Popping the part off is easier said than done. You'll have to phone the dealer to confirm the number.

As for the blend door actuator, I do have that. I am packing for a back pack trip, though, and will have to get that for you Monday.

Somehow I missed the A at the end. That did the trick. Thanks.

As for the blend door info, no hurry. It'll be some time until I can get going on this, but I'd like to have it.

Edit: Something else I meant to ask...how does the nav know where you are via GPS? I don't see anything mentioned about having to add a GPS antenna to make this work. Also, are the ACM's coming with the nav disc, or is there a cheap alternative to burn a copy of it?

United Radio won't load as built into the radio. I need to get clarification on whether they can flash new software to it with heated seat controls on it.

Since I didn't have to do this, I didn't look into it, but I looked it up and found that reprogramming is done using OASIS using the VIN of another car. Sounds like something to be done at the dealer.

Should this be the case, then you can use the VINs given at the beginning of this thread.

I suspect that the physical buttons will still work, however. You may not need to do this. Maybe see if the buttons work before you go throught he trouble of flashing it?

Here is the part number for the blend door actuator. This is the motor that turns the blend door only. For any other parts needed, you are on your own, unfortunately.

AR3Z 19E616 A

EDIT:
If you can get this working, I MAY consider taking my dash out again to upgrade. Was such a PITA the last time, that I am very hesitant. Taking the dash out was so much easier in a convertible!

I say do it....and take lots and lots of pictures for future conversions. If you do a write up I'm sure you will get 100 internet cookies, and lots of :grouphug:s.

Good news for you. No need to flash the nav. Just noticed this morning that my nav does not have the heated seats on the climate screen either. And it did come out of a car with heated seats. Only the physical buttons are used.

Fantastic. Now I just need to locate the FCIM and use it instead.

Did you try those wreckers I PMed you?

Not yet. I was working nights last week and I just started class this week, so I've been swamped. I will give them a call later this week.

Overboost Sep 4, 2013 03:11 PM

Got my box of nav goodies after work today, opened it, and found the FCIM was equipped with heated seats! Definitely a pleasant surprise. From looking at things closer, I now have an ACM, bezel, FCIM, monitor, amp, antenna harness, and climate module. I will order the remaining parts later this month and get things lined up to do this. I'm really excited now!:metal:

jim010 Sep 4, 2013 03:18 PM

All that for the price you paid? That was a really good deal! Just a couple of harnesses, a bracket for the amp and some pigtails now.

Overboost Sep 4, 2013 04:30 PM

Yep, pretty much. The bezel has some scratches on it, so I may look into replacing that. Also, I will get more part numbers on the other small things to add to your list. There's a small sensor at the bottom of the bezel (no idea what it does) that has a part number on it as well.

That sensor is to detect ambient air temp for auto temp control.

Thanks Matt.

Did some digging, and it appears the bezel itself (slate gray piece) isn't too bad. Tousley sells it for $68. Since mine is scuffed, I'll pick up a new one. The part number base is 04302, but I don't have a complete number for you to order by.

Any update Overboost?
