For about 4 months, I have been deconstructing the 2013 Smart Junction Box. This generally works for both the 2013 and 2014. I cannot comment on whether or not it is accurate for the other S197 models.
I have torn it down, mapped out the circuits (no fully but almost).
Here is a word document with every single wire going in and out of the SJB explained.
Just a Heads Up as Far as Parts Interchangability.
The 2010-2012 Are All 315 Mhz For Keys These Should All Interchange No Issues
The 2013-2014 are Partial 315 Mhz and Partial 433 Mhz You Would Need To Know Key Frequency.
Notice How Many Times The Part Numbers Change To This Final Number For the 315 Mhz! Be advised Ford Part Numbers Are a Bit Different Than ID Number on Sticker on Part! Also Disregard Production Date Limitations on this Link as Number Changed So Many Times it Clouds Data!
This Info Would Come into Play if You Were Looking For a Used SJB. You Would Want Your Keys To Be Able To Be Programmed So Correct Mhz Would Be Needed on Later Cars.
This Info is Only as Good As Ford Parts Giant Cataloging Allows. Use Your Best Judgement. ID Numbers With First Character {D} Would Be 433 Mhz While The A or B Would Be 315 Mhz. Again I Am Basing My Information On This One Online Catalog. I Have Not Used Genuine FORD Parts Cataloging!

With the car being 2 generations and 12 years+ old, I wish Ford would just give me the PCB diagrams.... Would be so much easier than this....

I Tried To get Some Help awhile Back & Got The Impression He Left Ford With Some Bad Blood on The Way Out & Politely Declined Assistance For Me!
Same Thing With My 3500+ Contacts {Mostly Ford Employee's} on Linkedin! No Help When Asked!
So Why I am I Still Helping Folks With FORD Issues 7 Years After Retiring! I Guess I'm Just an Oddball!
