Whats the widest 19 inch tire you can run on our GT?

The old woman wants some wider wheels once the stock tires wear out. How wide can I go??

FCMalie 4/23/11 02:01 PM

If you have the Brembos then you can go up to 275s for sure. I've seen at least one person do 285 on the Brembo wheels, but I think that is pushing it.

Whats the widest wheel we can run on the rear?

FCMalie 4/23/11 03:21 PM

Digital Synapse managed to cram 20x11s in the rear without having to modify anything. They were F14s, he has a thread in here somewhere with some nice pics.

What about 19x10's??

FCMalie 4/23/11 03:31 PM

19x10 shouldn't be a problem at all, not sure what tire size you could get on those.

Ty.....

Wasn't there a thread where someone ordered the 275/35 set all around on their Brembo wheels, but had issues with rubbing during cornering in the front? I can't find it , but recall reading it...

Just wondering the same thing, as I most likely will be in the market for some other rims and tires as well, when I'm wearing the first set out.

I hear he also had some 19x11's with 325/30/19's ready to go on before he went to the Forgestars. ;)

I took the black and white for my background lol. Trying to decide on 19s or 20s now... going to go with the matte black to go with the stripes I'll be getting put on.

Not sure if there is a difference between wheel wells on the v6 and the GT, but my 275s up front on my black track packs(brembo) rub on full turn. They also sit back a good bit in the wells compared to other wheels like the RTRs.

That has to be one of the nicest set I have seen, great job.

About 285, possibly 295 would be max without potential figment issues. For one, those width would be about max for a 10 inch width. Second, double check the offset, last thing you want is for your wheels to be outside the fender.

I remember telling you about that when you first got them. It's an offset things. Brembo 42, RTR 33. Makes a difference.

295 in most tire brands gives you a straight sidewall with moderate flex depending on tire strengths. I'd rather tighten it up with some 285s.

I have 305's on mine, but that's an 11" width. I could fit 325's or 335's but that will be a striaght and slightly buldgeing sidewall, AND sacrifice high speed stability and comprimise cornering. So I dropped down to the stretched 305's lol. See above pic.
