Thanks! Here's a link of the post I made when I modified the gas cap. https://themustangsource.com/forums/...as-cap-532512/ Just pop the decklid panel off (remove two screws, then use some trim removal tools to pop off the decklid panel). Then you can remove the inner part of the gas cap (which has the chrome "GT" letters). I painted the inner part with red Plasti-Dip. For the disc, I had some 3M DiNoc carbon fiber film (wonderful stuff, you can get it on eBay- just make sure to get the 3M film. Use a hobby razor to cut out the space for the "GT" letters. Then I used black Plasti-Dip to do the main part of the chrome gas cap. It would be better to use some bed liner on this piece- its a bit more durable than the Plasti-Dip, although it isn't as reversible and the Plasti-Dip has held up fine. Finally, re-assemble everything. All in, its about a 2 hour project. |
