Moving GT/CS stripe

Anyone considering moving the GT/CS stripe on the 2011 GT/CS to where the 2013 GT/CS stripe is? Anyone know how much that 2013 stripe is? I was thinking of doing this and adding a 5.0 badge.

Long story short my car is in the body shop after hitting a deer and the door needed to be replaced and obviously the GTCS stripe. Well my GF's uncle owns the body shop and told me that JUST ONE STRIPE for ONE DOOR from Ford was $130 +/-.

So if I do decide to go with the 13 style stripe, I will have an aftermarket vinyl company make me up something

Virtually all the stripes are available aftermarket for less money.

I like the position of the 11-12 as it is the same as the original 68 location, although the stripe is a bit different in design. To me, the lower position of the '13 stripe makes it look like any other Mustang with stripes. I will let the other driver figure out which engine is in mine, no 5.0 exposed is cool.

Yes the positioning of the stripe on the '13 GT/CS makes it loose it's appeal and the hood stripes look like a tacky dealer add on. The original classic CS had a lot more going for it being truly unique with the Shelby body parts on a notched roof hardtop with that mid-body positioned stripe and the Thunderbird sequential taillamps. To me that was the whole point.

I was thinking about removing mine completely too. That's kinda expensive tho if I change my mind lol. Think a hair dryer will do the trick?

Hair dryer, glue removal product, some work....and hope there is no change of color once removed....or that means more work.

NO! don't change it. Keep your '11 GT/CS stripe where it is. I like the hood vents and new front end on the '13 but NOT the GT/CS stripe position. what's it doing down there? The 5.0 emblem is cool but not needed on this model. Bad move, IMO, from the design dept.

I have a 2011 GT/CS and would never think about removing it. That is why I purchased the car for the classic and unique CS look. I actually thought about getting an updated mock up version of the 1968 California Special chrome emblems to put on my rear quarters like the originals do.

Stripes come right off. Very easy and no paint discolor. If you dont like it get new ons and put back on. Wont know if you dont try. IMO all 11-12s should have 5.0 on the side. Hood looks good on 13 but the suck. Your engine gets dirty and water gets in and you get water spots. If you like clean engine compartment 13 hood sucks
