Hood Struts

If you installed hood struts, are you happy with the results? What brand did you go with? (Thinking of adding to 12 Premium.)
Thanks

MRT's for the win.

Don't believe the red line hype. No drill struts with brackets hold the hood up just fine.

Redline struts here. Love them. Played with both the MRT/CDC hood struts and mine side by side. There's a difference.

Redlines work like factory struts should. You lift the hood a couple inches and it slowly raises the rest of the way by itself. The longer length and correct geometry allows lower pressure which means they will last longer and put less stress on the hood.

California pony cars (cpc) color matched. I don't like them and I wouldn't reccommend them.

I love my Redlines. Had them installed at Mustang Week.

MRT's. After over a year they are still working perfect. I open my hood almost everyday.

I've also had the MRT's for over a year and I have no complaints.

depends on if you mind drilling into you hood and adding holes that don't have to be there. I just had the MRT's painted to match my car and installed. They look like they came from Ford on the car. They work great and highly recommend them.

Sounds like both MRT and RedLine owners both like what they installed. So do either MRT or RedLine require drilling?

I saw both Redline and mrt on sale this weekend at a few sites. If you're getting them now is a great time.

Interested in the MRT kit (really don't want to drill any unnecessary holes in my car), the lowest price seems to be$89.99 direct from MRT...have you seen a better price?

3rd car with MRT's....real happy.....no drilling....

I went with MRT's because of the fact that they are short and back out of the way for access to the side of the engine. Why remove one front strut in exchange for two side struts....

I saw on AM a set for $75. I can't remember what brand they were. I'm at work so can't jump online to check.

Unfortunately those are not the MRT's they don't mention the brand but quite a few reviews indicate some fitment issues with the bottom fender bracket. Anyone here with the MRT kit have issues like this?

If the MRT ones had the same geometry as the Redline struts, they'd be perfect.

I did have to unbolt the sound tube from the fender to clear the MRT bracket. I haven't read the reviews at AM so I don't know if that's what the issue with their struts are though.
