Fog light question.
While looking at the Ford accessories website I noticed they sell these fog lights. They kind of look like the ones that come on the V6 cars but it says for the GT's only.
http://accessories.ford.com/lamp-asy-fog-front.html Does anyone know if these are supposed to replace the fog lights in the grill or are they an addition to the ones in the grill? Wayne |
think they are GT/CS versions... you can rewire it from ur existing fog lights if u r gonna del the one's in the grille. but dont if it is legal to go with all off them working. have seen people in the forum do it however.

Well, I found the installation directions for this kit and it looks like it replaces the factory grill fog lights.
Since you have to cut off the factory connector and splice into the factory wiring that goes to the grill lights for this kit, I wonder if you could just leave the factory grill lights in place and splice in the two wires that you need to use for this bumper light kit and run both sets of fog lights? Does anyone think there is a reason that this wouldn't work? Wayne |
You could but you're likely to start an electrical fire eventually using two sets of lights from one wire.

You are probably right.

throw a relay in there with proper sized wires and youll be fine with both. i think legally you cant have more than 4 aux/fog/driving lights other than the head lamps on at once so just the grille and those should be fine together. at least thats how it is in sc.

Thanks. Where would be the best place to put the relay? Wayne |
Find out what size fuse powers the lights, and how much they currently draw. I am willing to bet the circuit could handle the load.. Since the GT has LED, and the same circuit is built to also power Halogens.
