Decklid panel...need suggestions

Ive had the MMD decklid panel on my car for the last couple of years. I really liked the look, but last summer the faux gas cap kept falling off. When I put my car away in fall, I decided to pull it off and over the winter figure out a permanent solution to attach it to the panel. Unfortunately I broke the panel taking it off and now need to decide how to move forward. I'm considering these options:

1. Get another MMD. Like the look. Just replace it and go.

2. CDC panel. No faux gas cap to worry about and I like the debadge look on the back. But I don't like that it's flat and sticks out from the concave tail lights.

3. RTR. Get the debadge look and concave shape. I originally got the MMD because I didn't like the wall of shiny black at the back. Would be tempted to paint it flat black for a similar color offset.

4. Paint the stocker matte black and roll with it. Cheapest option by far.

I went with 3D Carbon's panel, got it pre-painted matte black. I liked that it followed the contour of the factory sheet metal, and used the factory faux cap. I took the opportunity to swap out the original GT cap for a Running Pony to go a bit stealthy.

There is a very small gap around the faux cap and the panel, they supply a sticker to black this out, but I used a bit of paint instead. Panel fit was great, as is the GT500 spoiler I also bought from 3D.

I am currently leaning the RTR way. I like the look, I'm just not so sure about it on a black car. I've got some time to figure it out as it'll be a good 2.5 months before my car is out of storage, unless global warming comes through in a big way for me (any of you guys down south who can send up some tire smoke to move things along, much appreciated ;) )

Well that's definitely no fun sir! Can you post up some pictures of the broken panel? I'd be more than happy to have the cost set up as a store credit to be used on another style for you if you'd like.

Shoot me a PM or let me know here and I'm here to help.

You are a gentleman and a scholar. There's a reason that all the options that involve me buying something new just happen to be on your site. Here's a photo of my hamfisted removal:

Incidentally there's a few other things I need from you. Let me know if there's anything else you need on my end.

I don't really remember, but I don't think it was more than $150

It was a local Ford dealer's body shop that did it, and I remember them saying they had to strip it and mud it a bit in a couple of places cuz it wasn't fully smooth.
They did a great job.
