Criaig's custom mustang plate bracket?

Looking into one of these; I like that I don't need to do any drilling, and more than that I like that it's one of (of not the only) aftermarket plate bracket that keeps the plate more or less where the stock location is…I always hate the ones that place the plate at the very bottom of the car, those to me make the plate stick out like a sore thumb way more than a plate in the stock location.

But I have a question on this for those who have one, particularly for a standard '13-'14 GT:

I know it has rubber feet on the back so that the paint doesn't get scratched, but when mounted, does the rubber foot contact the bumper at all times or is there a space between the foot and the bumper normally? My concern is that even a rubber foot can leave a mark on the paint if it's constantly rubbing against it and getting fine dirt/sand in-between it and the bumper.

This is a very good product and I don't.think you can go wrong with Craig's option.

I was looking at the same, but found Craig's would not fit my car. Really liked it and feel it would still be a great choice. But, it does not handle the Roush lower grill. So I had to find another option. I installed Big Mike's product and I am very happy with it. Really like being able to quickly remove the plate without a trace. Then can easily reinstall when needed. This was an easy install, and I did not have to lift the car.

I have the Craig's for my 2013 Roush.
I only use it to get my inspection sticker and then,........it comes off for the year. :nice:

So does it contact the front bumper normally or no?

I cannot remember if it does hit the bumper or not?
I had only used it once and that was for the inspection sticker and then it comes off ASAP. :D

You probably would not like my solution because the plate is mounted lower than the stock position, but I like the way it looks more like a European plate (not so tall) and it can't scratch any painted surfaces. Since the entire state name and plate number are visible I don't get any flack about it, and it has caused no cooling problems in 18,000 miles.

I have his plate bracket in my 05. It's been on now for 6 years. Just take it off to wash or wax the car.
The rubber bumpers on mine do touch the car a little. After 6 years there is a small mark where the bumpers touch the paint.
Still better than drilling into the bumper though.

On my 2012, the center upper rubber bumper does contact the bumper at all time. Mine rests on the front 'crease' of the bumper. I have not noticed any marks, but mine stays on all the time. If it does leave a small smudge or mark, no one will ever notice.

Thanks, if I recall though the rubber foot is pretty thick, so it could probably be cut/shaved
down in half to avoid rubbing I would think?

It has little nubs on the back of the bracket. I bent mine out a little so they don't touch unless I'm going 140ish MPH. Well worth the money.

I have one of those. It actually came with the car used but I love it! I've had a motorized hide-plate before and this is much better. It comes off in 2 seconds (basically). lol

I notice that Craig's is now offering a version for the 2013-14 CS/MCA-style billet grille. Has anyone used this?

i had installed AM hideaway plate first it stood good for long period, no issue of it touching any paint part because how it mounts. but it broke (user error) then i got criags mount, and it fits perfect and is in a good postion and user error will not break it. its strong and will hold any mph. there is rubber bushing in the back that is not touching the paint as it sits, may be wind can cause it to touch the paint.

I currently use the AM flip-down bracket, but am getting the Roush chin splitter and wasn't sure it would work as well with that - but it looks like you've got that splitter or a similar one and it fit well enough.

The AM is a bit fragile, IMAO - I've had two - which is why I'm still looking at the Craig bracket. I've seen the video demo on fitting it, which looks pretty straightforward, and was wondering if it's any more difficult to position and tighten the nuts with the billet grille version.

I also use the Craig's bracket and the words any MPH mean as fast as the fuel control will electrically let my GT go.
