2014 tail light bulb replacement?
 

Is there any way to swap out reverse bulbs in the 13-14 tail lights? I'd prefer more output on the reverse lights. Doesn't seem like there is, but I figured I would ask.

Not unless you replace the red/white LED's that make up that center section.
The LED's light up red when braking but turn white when the car is put into reverse

You could always sell the '14 tails and switch out to some tinted Raxxiom '11-12 tails, and then you can put in whatever bulbs you want

that would probably be the most awful idea ever lol!!!

Plus you would need to change the bumper to a 2010-12 or the tail lights wont fit. I would leave them how they are it much more trouble than its worth.

Maybe a rear camera would help?

Or perhaps some smaller LED lights flush mounted in the back bumper somewhere wired into the existing back up light circuit.. Like the old school mustang back up lights used to be. The 2011 Shelby GT350 had some like that..

That would probably be difficult to pull off with the stock bumper.

I like the idea of LED lights from the factory, but it'd be nice if I could swap out the bulbs myself...

How about some LED mini projectors on the package shelf mounted in the corners of the rear window.

Or maybe cut into the big black license plate surround to flush mount a different version there.

If you go with something like this, a relay harness would be a good idea to protect the stock wiring from the bump in wattage.

VLEDs use to have a high output LED License Plate Frame, but it is discontinued now:

However, they are working on a new version, but there is still concern that it may not properly dissipate the heat from those high output LEDs:

Either way, for all of these options, a relay harness would probably be a good idea for safety to prevent damage to the stock wiring.

My Formula uses standard incandescent bulbs in the reverse lights and I found some drop-in 50 watt halogen replacement/upgrade bulbs at PepBoys a few years ago. Those are really bright. Unfortunately it isn't that easy on the 2013-2014 Mustang.

I installed a license plate frame that has a strip of white LEDs on each side for use as backup lights. I actually split the wiring between the two sides so that I could use them as strobes but for backup light use it's a simple two wire (power and ground) connection. They are quite bright enough to supplement the factory backup lights nicely.

I suppose my main question would be why you feel the need to make them brighter? Even with tint I have no problem seeing out the back window at night when backing up, and then there is the parking assist feature that will let me know if I'm getting close to an object. Just replacing the regular license plate bulbs with LED bulbs made a huge difference and there was no extra wiring needed.
