Worth it?
 

I have a 2010 V6. You guys think it would be worth it to spend money on performance parts? The one thing that holds me back is that it's a 2010 so it has almost 100hp less than 2011+ V6s. Which really bugs me. Or is it a better idea to save up that money to buy a newer and faster mustang?

I'd buy a newer one if it were me. The money it would take to get it as fast as the newer V6 would probably just get you a newer V6 model (plus the sale of your current car, obviously).

I agree. You can find a lightly used 3.7 cheap. They tend to depreciate more rapidly than the 5.0. You'll really enjoy the extra 100 hp, plus there are plenty of easy go fast mods to do that won't break the bank.

I went from a 2010 to my 2013, Although I ate more than a couple of faster cars running in the mountains, the 3.7 eats even more of them.

I always like just getting an exhaust (for me the sound makes up a huge part of a car's characteristics), then saving for a newer model once you trade in. Especially if you have a 10 v6 and plan on getting something bigger and better

I would trade it. The 11+ comes with a more powerful engine, a 6 speed instead of a 5, gets better fuel eco, has stiffer sway bars, comes with bigger front brakes, LSD, and has dual exhaust. The 15s (if that's what you want) are going to have IRS, plus a whole host of new stuff.

I'd say it depends on what your goals are. Other than the starting power aspect, I'll be changing all of that on my 2014 GT anyways, so those wouldn't help me.

I'd at the very least throw a GT valance and dual exhaust on. It'll help you sell that sixer down the road, and I personally think the old 4.0 sounds better than the 3.7 with exhaust..:dunno:

if your mustang is paid for. keep it and save yourself the payments. I'd upgrade it if you have nothing owning. if you still have payments, then i'd consider trading it. and keep the payments going and drive a much faster stock mustang with all kinds of new bells and whistles.

I agree with Joe! If you like the new 15 style, save a bit and pick up a 16 or 17 model after the bugs are worked out. Depending on how you use your 2010, 100 extra hp might not add a whole lot, especially if you are using it as a daily driver. Your car looks really nice - fantastic wheels and it looks like you take very good care of it!

I also have to agree with the above. If you are making payments still and you can trade up for around the same amount monthly go for it.

Some amazing deals on '14 GTs lately....decide quick, I understand dealer stashes are dwindling.

Like Tom said, you really could get an amazing deal on a GT right now. I'm sure there's still a decent selection in Texas...

Go with a 11-14 GT. You won't be disappointed. I loved my 11 V6 but I wish I went big right away. It would have saved a ton of time and especially money. Trust me get a GT.

If you keep it, I'd leave it alone. Hopping up a V6 just doesn't make sense. I just got through pricing a tune and CAI ($700) and ain't no way you'll ever get that much extra fun out of a V6. Either keppit as is or go for a V8. Luck.
