removed muffler, hearing a knocking sound

so today I removed my muffler and when I drive and hit like a little bump or a part of the road that's uneven I hear a knocking sound that's coming from the exhaust area. how can I fix this?

would it not be your loose pipes banging??

Put the muffler back on? :dunno:

What you're hearing is likely the now un-secured pipe bouncing around like a tuning fork under the car, hitting the road, or the car.

Of course, I'm assuming that by 'took the muffler off the car' you actually mean exactly that, and not '...and then I put on axle-back straight pipes in place of the muffler', in which case my answer isn't as applicable.

In the latter case, it's probably a bad hanger setup or you left something loose.

Maybe you need to take it to a muffler shop and have it all checked up and secured.

Its the passenger side pipe bangin on your strut bar i had the exact same issue (maybe it was driver side idk)
I just wrapped and taped a couple microfiber towels (if they get wet youll have to wrap another one) and noore knock.

Get some axlebacks or if your shirt on cash have them weld some straight pipe in. Probably cost $50-75. Don't want to be driving around without tailpipes. Looks super ghetto.

Like the others have said it's probably the pipe banging around. I took my mufflers off a while ago to replace them and they definitely have room to move
