Installed catless H pipe

Hey guys,

I haven't been doing a lot of posting on here lately because it's summer time and I've been washing, waxing, and driving my car.

Last week I got a chance to put the MAK Performance catless H pipe on and I'd like to share my experience as there isn't a lot of discussion regarding this mod on here.

I currently have an Airraid CAI, Steeda 93 octane tune, Borla S-types, manual trans and 3.31 gear.

I've wanted to put on the H pipe for a while because everything I've read shows it gains between 15-20HP.

The H pipe itself is extremely well built, great fit, no issues at all installing it, everything lined up perfect. You'll need a ratchet, swivel, some extensions, a 15MM deep well and a 22MM wrench or 02 sensor socket/tool.

The car is definitely louder. Start up is louder, idle is louder, accelerating is louder. Cruising in 6th at highway speeds however is not louder than what I'm used to with the Borlas, which is a good thing. The idle is deep and really sounds aggressive. The sound gets super raspy above 3,000 rpm, that's the only downfall in my opinion. If you are running wide open throttle it sounds beastly, if you are just driving casually above 3k, it's not so beastly, just annoying.

Performance! Well, as I had read, I lost a bit of power down low. The best way to describe it is the difference when going from your stock tune to a performance tune, you can notice it, but it's not huge. On the other hand, I definitely picked up power on the top end. 2nd gear winds out nice and smooth, shift to third, the engine wants to keep pulling all the way to 7,000RPM. 3rd gear definitely pulls harder than before. I haven't had a chance to wind out 4th. This is with a Steeda 93 octane tune adjusted for the H pipe....I recommend this. Not only will it get rid of your check engine light, but idle and low RPM acceleration feel smoother than without being tuned for the pipe.

Just wanted to share my experience, let me know if you have any questions.

Oh yeah, I mixed in a bit of race fuel and it smells delicious.

I'll get around to getting a video of it.

I'm really considering getting the GT500 quads..I think it would sound incredible, and look incredible.
