Has anyone put on the American Muscle brake calipers on their Mustang? I really like the way they look, but am a little cautious because of the squealing that some of the people say they hear after the installation. I have a SGM with the Fp6 package, so red calipers covers would really give my exterior a nice pop of color. I was also considering painting them, but I do like the detail on the covers.

Hey Tony,

Great question! We've been working with MGP for a few years now and their kits are a piece of cake to install! I know this as I personally installed a set on our 2014 Project Coyote (you can see me on the video too!) There's varying feedback on them as the squealing is typically in regards to the clips. If they're not properly secured/tightened you'll definitely know!

I think that they would really set off your SGM '14 as well - Red and Gray just work really well together and the offset of color is perfect. If you haven't seen what they look like check out some of our Customer Submitted Images where you can filter the colors to see how they'll look on your Mustang. Let me know if you're to have any other questions on the MGP Caliper Covers and I'm here to help!

While we're at it check out our Product Video as well to get a better idea on them - (Please note that this will say through '13 but they'll fit on your '14 no problem!)

Thanks! I really do like them. I have watched many videos regarding these and other caliper covers. The look is definitely what I am looking for. Is there a fear of the brakes overheating with these covers on? Is there any kind of forum coupon for American Muscle?

Tony,

You're very welcome! Sounds good and I think they're a really nice way to complement an already awesome car! In regards to any fear in the event that something were to happen AM along with MGP would take this very seriously and I've never heard of them experiencing any type of issues under duress!

Trust me they're really strong!

Sorry as I have a 2007 gt/cs I thought of that after seeing what it looks like on top of the intake when I just changed my valve covers here's a gander. I will be leaving my plenum cover off as I feel it contributes to it.

Jazz- That's a good question and while we don't sell the Red Rear Pair I'm sure MGP would be able to get you set up directly! I'll work with our new parts team to see if this is something that we can have brought on as it's really a good idea and a no brainer in my opinion!

That's a really good question guys! I don't think that they don't create or hold dust in as the cover is pretty securely fastened. Take a look below to get a better idea on a couple of our shop cars. Mind the snow! We got a dusting last night.

Jazzman442 - Will do! As much as I wish this is something that could happen overnight it will typically take some time to get new parts brought on as there's a lengthy process!

From receiving the feedback from you I'll then have it brought to a member on our merchandising team. After that we'll then get into talks with MGP, negotiate having them brought on, have that reviewed, head back to the drawing board, have it approved/rejected, if they're approved we'll have the order set up, parts are delivered, product pages are then physically created, images shot and uploads, maybe even a product video!

Sorry for the rant I just wanted to let you guys know what typically goes down here having parts brought on!

I'd like to see something for the rears only to compliment the front Brembos as well.

Jazzman442 - I just wanted to make sure! I think it really helps a lot of customers get a better idea of what really goes on behind the scenes...Yeah...I I may have done this a "couple" times in the past.

It's literally my favorite part of working here - Being able to take your recommendations and have them turned into a reality!

Hey Guys - I told you both that I would do what I could and I wasn't lying that these things definitely do take some time. I wanted to thank Jazzman along with many others for their patience here.

Take a look at what was just added to the site and let me know if you have any questions at all.
