Anyone else have the SR Shifter?

So I picked up and installed the SR shifter. Picked it up during the president's day sale for a very reasonable price.

I think I like the stock one more. It seems difficult to shift into the gears. It feels really notchy. Getting into reverse is kind of a pain too. Also it feels like the shifter is always moving down (like how you have to push down to get into reverse) even when I am not shifting into reverse. I don't think the stock shifter was like that.

How has your experience been with it? Maybe you get what you pay for. This was less than half of what the Steeda one costs. Maybe I got a defective unit. Not sure.

I had one in my car for over 3 years and it worked great. Did you change the rear shifter bracket? That really helps a lot - I used the Steeda bracket. I switched to MGW last Fall an it is bullet proof!

I have the Barton bracket. I installed that a while ago to firm things up. Since the shifter was in sale I decided to add that. Its just really notchy.

add the blowfish bracket to your MT-82. the notchy feeling is from miss alinement of the shifter and trans due to the semi remote shifter set up that ford gave us. this bracket removes the shifter from being mounted to the trans tunnel and connects it to the transmission. They way it should be!!! If you have lock out at high RPM, thats a diffenant issuie....Your ford clutch.

The high RPM lockout is solved by the blowfish racing bracket. While I am experiencing a lot more vibration thru the shifter, shifting is much more precise. I am lifting the car up again this weekend to see if I can adjust it to remove some of the vibration. I have the stock shifter and really have no need to upgrade. I do Autocross and drag racing and use to have very bad high RPM lockout but this solved it completely.

To the OP, the SR shifter feels notchy probably because most aftermarket shifters are. It isn't going to have as much play in the shifter as the stock shifter. This notchiness gives the SR shifter its preciseness if that makes more sense. I find the Blowfish racing bracket with the stock shifter is a great mod.
