Your opinion on either a catted or non catted X pipe?

Thanks- I wanna pre-order one from Magnaflow but unsure.

Do you care about keeping it legal?

If not then get the non-catted version, cheaper and flows slightly better.

Would the non catted lose backpressure and thus lose some torque down low? thanks

I have a modular Bassani SS x which I ordered catless. It's a LOT louder without cats and a bit smelly, I ran it with the stock chambered mufflers and it sounded sweet at times and crap at others. Deceleration sounded the worst. You will draw a lot of attention without cats (cops, neighbors...) I ended up putting on high flow cats when I added my stingers. I like running cats because it's quiet (if you can call it that) when you want to it to be but when you get on it or rev it it's loud.

It sounded almost exactly like this with the stock mufflers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyhy6HoZ1nM You can hear the rattle like sound under deceleration, which I didn't like, but that's down to the factory mufflers.

I seriously used to partial neutral roll out of my garage in my condo complex during cold start at 6:30am with no cats...haha. Made me a bit self conscious due to the high idle during cold start.

I dont think so if very little you have the gearing to make up for it and these motors like to rev.

What are you going to run for teh rest of your exhaust? I just ordered the muffler deletes from Magna Flow this week.

I took my mufflers off this last weekend for a day and it sold me on muffler deletes. I thought it would be too loud, but it wasn't. It also didn't sound like a broken exhaust either, those were my two biggest fears.

See that depends on how well the exhaust system scavenges the engine (removing the cats will certainly effect exhaust rarefaction and velocity).
