X Pipe and H pipe question

Hey guys, I have the Borla S-Type Axleback exhaust system on my car.

Let me say that I LOVE it. However, I was thinking I wanted it a bit louder. Here's the deal, I do NOT want to go off-road I want to keep my cats and resonators. I was thinking of doing the direct bolt on swap Borla X-pipe.

Here is what I read about the x-pipe all over the internet.

A x pipe will make it raspier more like NASCAR sound, it will smooth it out and make the car quieter and it will get rid of that popping at deceleration. All of those things I do not want.

So i was told sticking to an H pipe will be better. Now is their an aftermarket h pipe that will make my car louder that is not off road that will go nice with the borla stinger axlebacks? thanks.

Just deleting the resonators will make it a little louder. You should have gotten the whole catback in the long run.

Well I was told the catback and the axleback really have no sound difference and the axleback was way cheaper

Also doesn't a resonator delete have a negative impact on performance

What if i did like aftermarket slp resonators with my axleback

Not true. A catback will eliminate the resonators making it louder.

get rid of the resonators!!! it will give you the extra volume you are looking for. Here is what i'm doing.

I have a Roush Axleback and I want a little more sound. I'm going to remove the resonators and if it is too loud or too raspy I am going to get the after-cat X-pipe which should smooth it out a little if it was too much. I think when the resonators are out I'll be happy, I love that popping sound

Usually, coming from an LSx background, I've always read that the x will flows little better, and the H will be louder. But that's apples to oranges now that I have a Mustang. Once I put these cat delete pipes on I will decide whether or not ro keep the resonators. I'd remove them usually but the wife doesn't want it too loud for when she drives it

Having done x, h, and no crossover on my old LS2 GTO, this is what I can tell you:

No crossover yields the deepest meanest tone. The bank of four cylinders gets to staccato much more since the paths arent being smoothed by the fire from the next cylinder. I had my car like this cammed and on the stock cam, and it was sick. People always commented on the sound.

H pipe is smoothed, but some staccato is present, tone not as deep, only because a partial smoothing, overall sound is quieter.

X pipe, tone raises even more, very smooth very modern. Even with a cam I find it somewhat uninspiring at idle. This was also the quietest pipe.

I bet the new Coyote with the firing order of an old flathead would sound SICK with no crossover. It would truly sound like a classic V8.

FYI, the difference in HP was under 10hp on a dyno from no crossover to an X pipe. That could truthfully be mostly attributed to having a better tune on my GTO when the X pipe was on. I say this because my car was tuned shortly after tuning for LS2s were cracked.
