If I buy the vcm2, what does it take to get it activated to communicate wth the car?

I have VMware with xp. Which ids version of clone?

 

What about activation code. Where do I get that

i used v86 to program my cluster swap. I tried using my vmware with xp from my macbook but had some trouble which is why i used an old xp box instead. i coudlnt risk screwing up somehow during that process (not that xp is very good anyway)

i dont remember how or what i did for activation i believe it came with it.

 

I don't have access to a xp box. But I use VMware to talk to lots of instruments and plc's at work. I have 7 ultimate on my laptop

 

Windows 7 works. Just make sure you execute everything as administrator

There is a file on the cd you got to get it running.

this one has a vm folder you copy to your hard drive and run in VMware, only other file is vx driver for vcmII

 

I can't find a link to download 86

 

Looks like I struck out and bought the wrong one. No luck getting it to work

 

Check with the guy you bought it from. They should have the stuff needed.

I gave up on version 97 and finally got a copy of 86. It works great now!

 

Will 86 work on 2014. It says unique PCM identifier unrecognized

 

I have a clone version with 86 but I can't get it to work anymore and I've tried the extend program and I'm using an XP laptop. It worked fine when I first got it. I just gave up on it. I bought it originally to switch to a premium instrument cluster which I also never bought because of the VCMII issues.

 

Running into issues to purchased cluster and shifter and I can not get the vcm II to work. Running windows 7 ultimate using VMware I can see the vcm II in vcm manager but when I start ids it states reactivate license I hit cancel and it does not show the vcm II attached. I am so frustrated. Can anyone point me in the right direction. ids is v100
