Transmissing tuning help

I'm posting this here because the 5.0 groups get seen more than the 3.7 groups, but my problem could run between the two engine families,
I bought a 13' Base 3.7 that had been disassembled to become a race/track car. The vehicle has been completely reassembled and is currently running and driving. Actually very well, with one exception. I think it has a former tune in it and it's causing a really aggressive shift strategy. Too aggressive for my taste. This is more of a driver at this point and I'd like to calm it down about half or put it back much closer to stock strategy.
Here's my question. Since I'm not looking for performance gains, what would be the most cost effective method to get the vehicle shifting closer to the way it came from the factory?
I can't see dropping $500-600 for a tuner to essentially go backwards.
Do any of the lower cost tuners allow for modifying the transmission shift strategy or am I going to have to submit info to a tuner?
I use Forscan on a regular basis but I am rather new to the tuner side of things.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
