Suspension question
So I had my '11 GT up on the lift the other day and I noticed something interesting. My sway bar linkages are blue. Now mind you, I don't know much about aftermarket sway bars and such. But I found it interesting that these would look so awesome for OE parts. The car was purchased preowned and it had already been equipped with 3.90's as well as beefier tires in the rear. Can anyone shed any light on this sway bar issue? I don't know if they are OE, just the linkages were replaced or if the whole sway bar assembly is after market. I know that this question is probably stupid, but figured I'd ask anyway. Thanks!!!

What color is the sway bar?

This is not my car, but this is what my sway bars and linkages look like. I found this on google, but the link offered no insight. |
That's an FRPP. You have a great set up!

Thanks for the input. I tried to find the FRPP set you mentioned but was unsuccessful lol. I did, however, go out and snag a pic of my sway bar setup on the rear. Granted, it was cold and my car is lowered, so the pic kinda sucks. You really think this is a FRPP?

That's my initial guess... Of course roush and some tokico suspension components are blue also. Lol they all do the same thing though.
|
Hey thanks for being so patient. Where'd you find that? I looked all over the place lol.
|
Standard roush suspension set up for 10-13.
|
Interesting. You think that the fact that the sway bar and the linkage being different colors makes a difference?
|
Not at all.
I'm guessing your car may be lowered? People change just the end links because the rubber is cheap and wears, to reduce body flex... Mainly to restore a cars geometry after a height drop. Btw roush makes several "track day" suspension components. Your sway bar is black but could very well be a roush component. Most components are blue and black. Look under a true Saleen and check out the suspension. Looks like a skittles rainbow. |
It is lowered but i did that myself. :D I figured if they are beefed up that it would be to compliment the rear gear. Just out of curiosity, is there anywhere on the components that would have a trademark of some kind?
|
Not sure on the trademark:(
|
Oh well, I'll have a look around and see if I can find someone that can get up under it and snoop around. Thanks for all your help though. :)

I have an '11 GT with the Brembo package. Those end links are what came on the car when I picked it up from the dealer.

Ahhh gotcha. Are those somehow different than the standard stock sway bars?
