Should SCT Tuner be preloaded?
i ordered the Steeda Power pack that comes with the BOSS Mani, Steeda CAI, and SCT Tuner, but the tuner does not have any files on it. shouldn't it be loaded already with the tune i need?

Also, since all the parts are installed already, and I don't want to go through the headache of taking it apart and putting the stock Mani back on, will it hurt my car to drive it with the parts installed but no tune applied?

So I've sent them an email. But I still need to get my car out of the garage that it's in now and back home. Is it safe to drive without the tune just to get it back? Maybe about 5 miles or so.

Steeda would likely tell you 'no'......and you may throw a trouble code as well since you'll be running extremely lean. If it were me I might try it anyway and simply keep it at low RPMs just to get your car home....might even stuff a t-shirt on top of the air filter intake to minimize the incoming air flow. I've never heard of a case where 'anyone' omitted the tunes on a purchased tuner kit...I thought they had to do that (along with getting your processor code) before they shipped the handheld tuner. Are you absolutely sure you dont have any tunes??

Well I drove it back home. Seemed ok, just a couple instrument panel lights on that aren't normally. But now she's parked and I'm not moving her till I get this whole "tuner" issue sorted out. Probably won't be hearing back from Steeda till tomorrow since their customer service hours say Monday-Saturday. I still can't believe I didn't have anything loaded into my SCT Tuner.

It should be fine just as long as you weren't opening it up, and if it was 5 miles like you said, then I'm sure you'll be alright provided you didn't open the throttle.

You're fine as long as you didn't beat on it during that short drive. Steeda will fix you right up. Someone dropped the ball if you didn't read the code off of your ECU to them when you ordered it. They have to have your ECU # to program it. Someone got lazy on the order it sounds like or some newbie answered the phone and needs to be fired. If you hadn't known better, you could have fried your Coyote.

Hopefully I can help you.
when I got my Steeda CAI and tuner package it was loaded with the tune for the combo.
It did not show the tune in any of the 3 open slots for tunes. It was called the stratagy tune.
I would call them first to make sure but I bet you have the tune already.Just plug your tuner in and scroll to stratagy and hit select. It should upload your stock tune and save it and then install the stratagy tune.
hope this helps
