Roush supercharger

Ok who here has a Roush supercharger installed?? I'm looking to go with one soon and wanted to know what hp level you chose and why that's what you decided on. I am also curious on the drivability of the car after install and how the overall Installation affected the car as a whole (coolant temps etc.)
also, if you have a supercharger other then a roush tell me how you like that and why you chose that type/brand.
thanks in advance for any and all feedback

I have the 575hp kit with a vmp tune. I chose roush based on the efficiency of the tvs as well as not having the blower whine sound. I wanna hear engine and not a whine. The drivability is the same just way more power and torque! I don't know what my engine temps are from before. I've had it for a year now and love it.

If u want whine then steer away from the tvs. You know the new Shelby's have tvs blowers. Anyways, I'm running the pulley the kit came with running 7 psi with a vmp tune at 572 whp 503 tq. My buddy is running 14 psi well over 600,...I can't recall the exact number sorry. These new motors with FI and custom tunes can go high as far as power numbers. Someone here has a KB around 720 whp. A lot of centri guys here are well into the 600-700s.

My dad has 13 Shelby, with stock intake (open air) you can still hear the whine pretty darn good.

I thought the roush tvs supercharger made the mpg worse not more efficient.

Good to hear. I can take or leave the blower whine. Sorta like a loud exhaust, nice sometimes but annoying most of the time. So the 575 kit is the base kit right? And with the tune only vmp's tune has you right at 575 rwhp correct?

The style of the Roush blower is more efficient then the blowers of the past. Has nothing to do with fuel mileage.

It's the air intake system, not the blower.

When I bought it the 525 kit was the base. I don't know about it now, I think there's a 624hp kit they offer. I hate the roush calibration and talked with Justin at vmp and got a tune for it which put me a few ponies shy of 575 at the wheels. I believe whatever blower u chose you'll be one happy guy

The TVS is much more efficient and the torque numbers on the TVS are much better than the Whipple. I had the whipple on my 2011 while my buddy had a Roush. Same boost (10) he made about 60 pounds more than me. Its a great kit and its much cheaper than the whipple. Only thing different about these kits are the head unit, everything else in the kit is the same. Roush makes the entire kit for FRPP minus the head unit. Only reason I know this is because I have a relative who works for Roush in Livonia, FRPP and Cobrajet. I guess one of the perks for growing up around the block from Roush.

I know that's why I said "open air intake". I didn't want someone say the stock blower made the whine loudly.

So it's sounding like I should buy the Roush 625horse kit. When I talked to brenspeed about the Roush units they said I send in my ecu to Roush for calibration then if I wanted to go further with it they would tune from the Roush cal. Is that what you did or is your entire tune from vmp?

We're you running pump fuel with 10lbs.? If so what were your numbers vs your buddies? Thanks for the info.

I sent it in to roush and sported their calibration for a few weeks before I couldn't take it at the track without wanting to tear the PCM apart! So I had vmp look at my data logs and gave him all my mods info(headers and so forth) and he wrote me a few tunes and sen them to me on a new sct tuner. He's a busy guy but managed to have it to me within 2 weeks.

If you go with brenspeed I'd appreciate it if you'd PM me with how you like their tunes sir.

You're confusing sir. No one said the blower made the whine "loudly." Not being disrespectful, it's just you're command of language is at times confusing.

I'm running the Roush 625hp TVS and Pro Dyno tune. Along with Comp Cams and Kooks headers I'm at 643 rwhp and 558 lb/ft torque at 11 psi using 93 octane. If anyone thinks almost doubling your hp and getting better gas milage goes hand and hand then think again. Normal day to day spirited driving gets me around 11mpg. I went with the Roush for several reasons. My tuner is seeing better numbers with the Roush over the Whipple and KB and it is less expensive. I have stock internals and feel confident it can handle my mods. Any more hp and tq will require me to go forged internals and I will do that some time in the future. Drivability is not like stock, at least on mine. It requires more gas from idle just because of the cams and blower load. After that it is completely like stock except I can spin wheels through first three gears and into 4th. I've just installed Tremec Magnum XL and along with drag radials I'm hoping to be able to better hook up. I would not hesitate in installing a Roush TVS. It's a quality product

How do you like the tremec? I've been thinking of this but was waiting to hear from others.

Thanks for the input. I'm auto so I won't have to worry about the manual trans. Seems the consensus is that the Roush is the best deal going as well as making the most power per pound of boost.

How about install guys??? Did you install yourself?
