Replacing my current tune ?
Replacing my current tune ?
Not sure if this is true or not but I'm getting a replacement 93 tune for my SCT tuner, Ive herd I have to load the stock tune back in the car before I can load my new tune ?
That's crazy. I don't believe.
Would explain why my BamaCam tune would stall occassionally, till the fiancee got annoyed with it so I flashed to my non-bamacam tune for a few weeks. I missed the lope, so I flashed it back. It hasn't been stalling since.
Anyways loading my updated tune right now after returning it to stock also there is a new update for the SCT tuner but you will have to return it back to your stock tune before you can do the update.
I don't know how you guys are loading new tunes without going back to stock.
ANYTIME I plug the tuner in to the computer to put a new tune on it it requires the car to have the stock tune loaded.
Now if you're talking about switching between the 3 tunes that are currently loaded on the tuner then no you don't have to go back to stock in between. Which is nice because it loads so much faster this way.

Skitt's Law strikes again!
From Shaun from AED
"SCT only does a 'full' flash the first time you tune the vehicle. Each subsequent time it looks for changes and writes only the differences it see's in the software. Since SCT software only has access to roughly 33% of the total tune, you may indeed end up with 'background' changes from the first tune and SCT tune changes from the 2nd written over it. In the event of a Strategy change, or *other* non-SCT type of tune modification, this will give you a 'hybrid' tune with parameters from both tunes mixed into one tune.
Due to this I advise all customers to return to STOCK before loading in an AED tune. This ensures the tune is fully written."
