question about tune

The long weekend has started me reading about the Bama tune for my 14 GT. I've only have the car for about 6weeks now and has about 1,200 miles in it. I am in Maryland and am thinking of getting the tune for the 91 octane. My understanding is that if I have the 91 tune, if I have to, I can fill up with 87 octane, but, not with 93 octane. Is this correct? I have read reviews that the 93 race tune is something that could really be felt. What about the 91 tune? Is there a big improvement from the stock tune?

No, it's the other way around. Higher octane is OK, lower is NOT.

You bought a car with a performance motor and you don't understand the theory of octane?...

The lower the octane number, the more likely your motor will ping, since it is a high compression engine(11:1). As Joey said, you'd want to use nothing lower than whatever the tunes octane level is set at. If you have a 93 octane tune, the lowest you can run is 93. You can always go up in octane, never down.

Good question and like what's being said here, whichever tune you would be running on the Bama X4/SF4 Tuner you're going to need the octane it's calibrated for or a higher octane but not lower. Let me know if you have any other questions about this at all, I'm always here to help out!

I have the bama tune... With purchase you'll receive 3 custom tunes... 87,91 and 93.
With each use recommended octane.
91 tune is ok... But 93 wakes up the coyote nicely...
