Possible Tune Issue?

Welp i've been running my bama 93 race tune for a month or so now.

I've been wondering something about my tune i have a 2011 GT with Auto trans. The tune is great but im curious if the shifting points might be messed up.

when i push the pedal in from a dead stop i squeal the tires a bit when going from 1st to 2nd. When that happens i basically miss most of 2nd and go right into 3rd.

For what its worth i dont have the best tires, they are new though but not the best performace. Is this normal? should i get a new tune?

I feel like if i ever wanna take her to the 1/4 mile that something like this will mess with my times dramatically.

Have you tried returning to stock then re-loading the tune?

Contact Bama about the issue or hookup with Doug at C&L for a auto tune.

Have tried several auto tunes. Many have the same problem as you describe. The only tune I really love right now is from Brook Speed. Perfection.

rmurer,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue your experiencing. On the factory settings when the car detects wheel spin it does automatically shift up a gear. However the tune is supposed to disable that feature. Occasionally there are errors because we hand write each tune. I'm confident my Bama team will fix it quickly! Majority of the time, its Small human error when filing your tune information form or by a Bama Member!

Shoot me a PM with your order number included. I'll have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson contact you directly. I'm confident with just a few peeks into your tune he'll be able to get you squared away!

My 2011 will smoke the tires and it doesn't up shift like you stated. This is with a stock tune.

Well first off so long as the track your going to is decent you won't be spinning into second like you do on the street. Maybe a little chirp but not much more then that.
Secondly that hard shift where it bangs into the next gear is certainly not the quickest way to accelerate. I had a steeda tune that banged from first to second and it would spin so much you would lose some momentum from the lack of traction. I'm running a vmp tune now it the 1-2 is so dialed, it's firm and it will slightly chirp when shifting but you lose zero momentum during the shift. On a side note, when just accelerating crisply around town the car will chirp nicely between 1 and 2. Best of both worlds IMO.

mrurer,

Sorry about the delay, I've sent your information over my had tuning specialist. However it's only been a few business hours since your PM so I'm sorry he hasn't reached out yet. I've just spoke with him and he'll be contacting you this afternoon!

Thanks for your patience while we get your situation handled.

Contact me at Doug@CnLperformance.com I know what the issue is and I write my CUSTOM tunes to resolve this, not prewritten cal files for every car from Ford. I write every tune we sell, and I take full responsibility for them because I know what I'm doing with the automatic transmission and what works.

Just let me know if I can help!

Thanks, Doug
