Oil burn???

My 5.0 burns some oil no doubt; a little less than a quart in 2000 miles. I'm not worried about it though. My other cars have done that as well. I drive the car like it's meant to be driven:tomcat:. The car isn't dogged out and is taken care of but I do unleash the car's power quite often. How much burn are you guys getting? I am using Mobil 1. In my LS1, I actually went to a different brand because Mobil 1 burned so bad. It is not as bad in my 5.0. I am just wondering how much burn everyone else is getting?

I got 15000miles on odo. And haven't noticed any being burnt, however I do collect a bit in my catch can. Wouldn't come close to a quart every 2000 miles though.

I had to add oil at 300 miles. Haven't burnt a single drop since.

Used a bit until the first change....none used since then. Seems to be the nature of the 5.0.

What and where is this catch can your talking about or is this some sort of ad-on.

Add on....into the PCV line I believe.

Right. It goes on the passenger side pcv line to the intake. Basically allows the oil/residue to drop out of the air, and not go back into the intake system.

Day to day mine doesn't really consume any oil. It did consume about a quart for a two day track event. Though, that's to be expected and why you bring oil with you.

I've heard in a couple different places that the break-in on these engines takes a bit longer and they tend to consume some oil during this time.

I had to go to the penalty box a few days:shame: :bs:;):jester::dunno:

Anyway, I'm back. I apologize to anyone that was offended but not to the individual that started the confrontation with me. You know who you are. As for my language, it is hypocritical for the site to have BS flags as I posted above and a "Smiles" poking fun of homosexuals:gay:. My language was no worse than what the site itself condones and has presettings for members to use at their disposal.

Enough of that, Hope everyone's Stang is Rockin and everyone is well!
