Nitrous on the Coyote..

Let's get this thread going. Personal experiences would be great. The prominence of nitrous on the 5.0's has not taken off. When I had my LS1(01 SS), it was almost as common as a tune/cai is on the 5.0. I personally don't think these motors will hold 150 shots of Nos too long due to powder coated connecting rods, 11:1 comp etc. 75-100 HP kits would probably be the way to go. Zex has a 125 or150 kit but hasn't seen too much popularity. I would assume there isn't a comfort level with owners putting Nos on their 5.0 including myself. Nitrous lovers chime in.....

Subscribed... I want to hear more about 100-125 shots as well. I've only read articles. Never known anyone with a 11+ 5.0 w/ NOS

I'm trying to spread the virus to the conservative owners on this forum.

I am interested in the Zex nozzle kit and looking at a 100 shot. I am interested in how the day to day driving is with the tune. I currently have a Bama 91 perf tune for my Boss intake and love it. How much will I lose with the nitrous tune for daily driving? I never see people talk about that aspect. I know it will haul *** on gas, but what about the other 95% of the time?

Subscribed. I'd like to hear any personal experiences with a plate system and day to day drivability as well.

Well you're not going to be using your nitrous unless at the track or street racing so I would assume the tune would be almost identical to the 91 performance street tune. I think you'd only notice a difference once the nitrous kicked in. This is just my personal opinion. I could be wrong.

Ok, a couple of questions. I'm not a nitrous expert by any means so help is appreciated.

Plate system vs Nozzle system? Differences? Pros? Cons?

Purge kit is an obvious add-on to the system so that's a no brainer.

I'm thinking 100 or 125 shot.

This is mainly just for fun on the streets. I'll remove the bottle and have the system turned off when I'm tracking.

Again, help and comments is appreciated.

Just installed a NX150 plate kit on my car. I have a noon appointment to get the Dyno tune done. Doing an E85 conversion at the same time, for safety purposes mostly. Once we get the two tunes done, E85 and E85/N2O I'll be glad to post the numbers.

Yes please. Why'd you go with a plate system instead of a nozzle system?

We got the E85 NA tune done and it ended up being 400.8hp 380.4ftlb. Which was a gain of 13hp and 8ftlb over a 91 mail order race tune. Not too shabby as we are at 6000ft in elevation.

Went with the plate system for better atomization with the bigger shot.

On the E85 Nitrous we still have to fix the window switch, it's getting a dirty tach signal and shutting down at 4500 rpms. If anyone has a wiring diagram for the ecu it would be a huge help. At ~3800 rpms it did make 560.6ftlbs.

More work to do Sunday...

Yep, plus the 105 octane E85 helps a little. Stock exhaust manifolds. Shop just dyno'd a 2011 automatic and stock it made 330rwhp. Mine's a manual so that frees up so hp, plus it's breathing better with the bolt ons. Glad I didn't get a Camaro lol. Love the new 5.0

I'll post the dyne sheets or pictures when we get the window switch sorted out.
